“Very confidence Deron will be a member of the Nets”
“We’re very excited about our cap space and the future in Brooklyn.”
“Michael. Brooklyn. Excited. Barclays. Excited.”
“Hump is a priority for us, but everyone has a number.”

Singler is a safe pick.
But players always drop.
@Al_Iannazzone: BREAKING NEWS: Nets are close to acquiring Deron WIlliams from Utah, sources told The Record.

people dont like him here.
and he could very well be one of our picks :p

I don't think its that people don't like him
It’s just that our SF spot now needs huge improvements, and he would just be added to that group of James and Outlaw. Doesn’t sound too compelling.
Ric Bucher reported that he's heard that Deron Williams and Dwight Howard have discussed playing together in the future. - Kevin Baumer
youre not drafting a starter
or at least youre not planning to.
You think the Knicks thought they were drafting a starter with Landry Fields (AFTER Andy Rautins)?
Best player available may translate to best player who can step in. He fits.
unathletic not a great shooter not a good defender slow first step

i like Justin Harper
but all his pre-draft notes are all about him shying away from contact. And to think he is so physically big…
I want Mirotic
Draft and stash. Collect assets. Stay the course.
I would prefer Harper as well
I think he may be a Sf but at the worst a stretch 4

Anyone notice
A significant amount of Nets commercials. I’ve never this before. No advertising of any on TV from years past. I really like this..

Selling doesn't mean much. We weren't last when it came to selling tickets but in attendance. Well, lets just wait.
Petro + Williams = Blueprint for success
The Russians will hold it down
Brighton Beach will be there. spoke with a few Russians that gave me the impression, they will back the team.
Those commercials are great and annoying at once
Shows players from the Nets’ past yet not one shot from the team that went to back to back Finals! No Kidd!! Come on!
The Nets repeatedly fail at marketing their history. I don’t get it.
Kidd is still in the NBA
Proky isn’t going to advertise for the Mavs
Welcome Deron! "Big Willie Style" all in it!
Derrick, you will be missed.
It's not advertising the Mavs
You don’t show shots of him in a Mavs uniform.
If that is an issue, show KVH or Kittles from the Finals team.
To complete ignore
the Finals teams is assinine.
who the hell
gives a crap about Jason Kidd or the finals team right now
MOVE FORWARD
We have Deron now. We have Brook now. That is the present. And the future. I don’t understand your anger

Who likes this?
Lopez / Petro
Nene / Humphries
James / Outlaw-Singler
Vet / Morrow-Lightly
Williams / Faramr
"I think I’m the best point guard in the league. No reason. I just think I’m the best.’’-Deron Williams.
Would the Nets have enough money to pay
Nene and Humphries?
by JerseysFinest. on Apr 26, 2011 5:51 PM EDT up reply actions
If that happened would have to think it would be precursor to a Howard trade
Lopez and Nene.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
What?
Thats more than a 40 win team.
"I think I’m the best point guard in the league. No reason. I just think I’m the best.’’-Deron Williams.
Maybe, but I hate seeing lineups where someone starts over Hump and theres no legitamate SF starting. I like Damion James but getting a SF would help us more than getting Nene imo.
Petro + Williams = Blueprint for success
Nope,
offense runs better through scroing big rather than, scoring wings.
I’m not making this up, Lakers had Ariza/Artest, Vujacic/Walton, Brown, Farmar and Fisher playing with Kobe. Are they really all that great wings/guards?
But had Odom, Gausol, and Bynum, by no means is Williams Kobe, but he sould be the one with the ball.
I like Morrow(3pt shooting, and averaged 16.5ppg since aquiring Williams), James (who hasn’t even got a chance yet)
"I think I’m the best point guard in the league. No reason. I just think I’m the best.’’-Deron Williams.
Nene hasn't shown much in the playoffs ditto for Chandlar
Espeacially for the type of money they will want. This is me passing on nene who has yet to average ten boards or even 15 ppg. I’m good with the Hump.

Isola has been killing it today like he usually does been hilarious
FisolaNYDN: Still trying to figure out how some in media interpreted Melo’s evasive comments about D’Antoni as him endorsing the coach.
FisolaNYDN: I did hear Chauncey Billups endorse Larry Brown and I heard Melo endorse himself as a de facto GM. But Melo endorse Mike. Never happened
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
One of the few fair balanced reporters, very similar to Iannazzone
He’s less of a homer than the rest, which of course means almost all the Knicks fans think he’s the biggest Knicks hater of all time.

It's kind of like Woj and Hollinger
They both have past ties to the Nets, no? Both seem brutally honest whenever talking about them.
Woj tore the Nets a new one after the Melo debacle
he was as ferocious as we are. He was literally angry. I loved it

Can I say none of the above?
Definitely not Morrison… I guess Singler if I had to pick
by bronxbombers2 on Apr 26, 2011 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions
Singler because he's never been in the league and can probably prove that he can be a decent role player or better.
Petro + Williams = Blueprint for success
Morrison because they all suck, but Morrison does some hilarious things.

It would only take about .701% of the population of Brooklyn alone to fill the Barclays Center.
The Devils won the Draft Lottery!!!
A combination of Alexander and singler
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
Combination of powers
I don’t dislike singler but for me it depends who’s left on the board like Justin Harper or Kenneth Faried.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
If the Pacers bulls series goes 7 games
I’m going with the Pacers.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
if they win tonight
it could go 7

What ya think? From an Orlando fan
“If Dwight is the guy he says he is, he will not leave. If he leaves, I am not watching basketball ever again…
That being said….go magic.”
"I think I’m the best point guard in the league. No reason. I just think I’m the best.’’-Deron Williams.
Lol
Just another fan who only becomes fan of a team when they’re good. Most of us Nets fans had to sit through a painful 12-70 season and watch the likes of Travis Outlaw, Stephen Graham, and Sasha Vujacic play starter minutes. gimme a break…

They're not even close to the talent level of Petro and Graham.
This is first team all NBA.

From Bill Simmons and a reason why Brooklyn will be great
Problem No. 4: It’s really, really difficult to persuade a franchise player, or even a perennial All-Star, to remain in a small market unless you’re winning 60-plus games every year. NBA players like sunshine, big cities and tax-free states. If a franchise can’t offer one of the three carrots, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy — like the girl who joins “The Real World” and claims she’s going to keep a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend of six years. You know she will hook up with a roommate; you know the boyfriend will come visit and play pool with that roommate; and you know she will dump him at the end of the weekend. It’s just the way the show works. Same for LeBron leaving Cleveland. The current free-agency system doesn’t give smaller markets any advantage to help them keep their best players. Superstars such as Chris Paul ultimately will play wherever they want. Lesser stars such as Danny Granger will stick around, but only if you overpay them and destroy your cap. You’re screwed either way.
Full disclosure: I don’t really care about Problem No. 4. People should live where they want without being judged … well, unless you’re copping out and joining forces with your biggest rival like LeBron did. For us to expect professional athletes not to overrate location when deciding where to play is naive. If I said to a friend, “My wife and I are going to South Beach for a few days,” my friend would say, “That’s awesome, where are you staying?” If I said to that same friend, “My wife and I are going to Sacramento for a few days,” my friend would say, “Sacramento? Why?” Sorry, it’s true.
It would only take about .701% of the population of Brooklyn alone to fill the Barclays Center.
The Devils won the Draft Lottery!!!
Granger looked good
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
Off topic, I have had a question that Many people saying that this year's draft is weak
But does that mean Kyrie Irving sucks?
a guy that played like 5 games is going number 1...thats explains a lot
by RandyOreens on Apr 26, 2011 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions
But if Utah wins the lottery, and they get the Kyrie Irving,
so they get a player who is going to be as good as CP3?
I mean, if this year’s draft is weak, but is it still has a player who is going to be as good as Wall, James, or Rose?
How about this
Brook Lopez, Travis Outlaw, and Petro for Josh Smith only if Nets can sign Tyson Chandler?..Hawks may do it to move HOrford to PF and would take Outlaw and Petro to get Brook..than sign AK-47/JR Smith and Kristic
Dwill/Farmar
JR SMith/Morrow
AK-47/James
Josh Smith/Hump
Chandler/Kristic..
Brook is a good player who scores but i’d rather have more scoring from the wings and PG..Center i’d rather see rebounding and defense..AND it gets rid of Outlaw and Petro
look at it this way
when the game gets ground to the halfcourt, you’re going to need someone that can score in the post

Did anyone listen? Can we get a recap ?
All I caught was the end of it and King seemed confident that Deron would resign. (big surprise)
"This isn’t fantasy or rotisserie basketball. Why would Denver want Outlaw? Would you?"
Not Really
King and Avery have always stated he’s going to stay. This may be unlikely, but it wouldn’t surprise me if internally Deron has already verbally committed to the franchise

I wish I checked the site earlier this morning, I would have listened.
Please anyone that listened, can you give some of the main points, especially if he mentioned any specific draft targets and thoughts on moving up, adding picks, etc.?
Thanks in advance.

i started listening near the end where he was said he was confident that he will resign D-Will and that he was actually going to pick him up and go to lunch afterwards & then check out the Barclays construction site before Williams flew home.

This is from his actions and managements/coaches words.
Lets see how this off season goes, King and everyone are talking about playoffs next year. I hope we can pickup Marcus Thornton.
Did BK hurt his hand or something?
