Dispelling the Humphries "Contract Year Bump" argument

Stay connected for news and updates

WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! In the amNY thread (that article was completely Captain Obvious, btw. We need to get wings? We need to hope Hump can continue to bring it? We need to hope Lopez gets stronger? WOW! I never realized!) someone asked "What's the difference between Hump and Darrell Arthur?"  ... Really?

Here are a few:

Arthur's career rebounding rate is 13.6%. Hump's CAREER rebounding rate is 18.0% (the biggest lie on this site is that he only just discovered how to rebound and play with energy.)

Arthur's career TS% is .496. Hump's is .498. Yeah, astronomical difference.

Arthur's "Win Shares" is 5.7. Hump's is 11.2.

Once again, those are all career. I swear, people act like Hump hasn't been playing similarly his entire damn career. It's time to open some eyes.

Let's take a look at Hump's per 36 for his entire career.

Well, would you look at that!

  • He's averaged fewer points per 36 this year - his BREAKOUT year
  • He averaged a couple of rebounds more, but he was already averaging 10+ in Toronto (as early as 2006)
  • Same assists, steals, blocks, and even fewer personal fouls.

Gosh, I wonder why he broke out this year if he's been playing like this his whole career.... OH THAT'S RIGHT, HE GOT 1,000 MORE MINUTES THAN USUAL!

/end rant
