Is this the beginning of something special?

Stay connected for news and updates

I know it is VERY EARLY in this building process to have any real idea if we have something special unfolding here but the addition of Deron Williams already has began to change the culture and attitude of this team.  I know it was just two wins vs the Raptors and a close OT loss to phoenix, but there is no doubt that this team is playing inspired basketball for the first time in years.  The thrilling triple overtime victory was a real team effort and I hope this can result in a positive finish to the season, playoffs or no playoffs.  We have 20 games left and are still 8.5 games out with 3 teams in between the 8 seed and ourselves, leaving four teams to leapfrog.  Highly unlikely, BUT there is no reason we can't jump ahead of two of those teams, maybe we can play .500 basketball for the remainder of the season and have something positive to build off of?

As one of MANY Travis Outlaw haters out there, I would like to praise him for his efforts in the second victory in London.  He played quite possibly his best game as a Net whether or not the stats say the same.  He was crucial down the stretch in helping us win this game especially after Brook fouled out.  It's not so much that I don't like him, its that I truly HATE his contract because of how devastating it is to our cap space.  As for the rest of the Nets performances in that incredible game, it goes without saying how great Brook, Hump and D-Will were.

Finally, I would just like to say, that for the first time in I don't even know how long, I am PSYCHED to be a NETS fan!!!!   It is genuinely exciting and enjoyable to watch a NETS game again and I am thrilled!
