There's a whole lot of love and hate on this website for Brook Lopez, let's face it, no matter what some people are going to be in love with his offensive skills and some people are going to poke apart his defense.
There's also a whole lot of people who are all about Kris Humphries, and not as many detractors. But as a poster recently said, 'You can't win with Lopez and Humphries defensively as your front court, we need an enforcer' and I really have to agree with this opinion.
Lopez and Humphries are both sub-par defenders. They both get blocks, Humphries grabs lots of rebounds, Lopez scores lot of points. But neither have lots of quickness and they both give up lots of easy baskets.
What's the solution? Let Hump walk and sign David West? I don't think so, especially not with this injury talk. Should we trade Lopez and sign Tyson Chandler? That's better but it would probably end up being too much money for a player who doesn't make much difference on offense.
In my opinion, what the Nets should (and won't) do this off-season, is find a team that Kris Humphries wants to play for that will pay him a good deal of money, and sign and trade him for some talent. Humphries is getting a lot of hype right now, with his play and with the attention that Kim Kardashian has brought. I don't think this will happen because I think the Nets like all the attention and that Avery likes Kris Humphries, but I think it would make the most sense.
A more realistic option might be trading Brook Lopez, which I'm not against if it brings back a package that includes quality help at more than one position. If we can build depth we will win more games and that will keep Deron from fleeing, even if we don't get Dwight Howard
