No Change in Infirmary Report
Deron Williams isn't playing vs. the Rockets but might against the Knicks. He did go through the shoot around. Sundiata Gaines is at home in Queens on crutches. Damion James' foot will keep him out the rest of the week. Quinton Ross was visiting a surgeon on his herniated disk, probably done for the season.
And it's not just about bodies. Avery Johnson says the four missing Nets are his four best defenders. Not a good thing going up against the Rockets, one of the NBA's top offensive teams of late.

Dammit James
I like his game, but he can’t get more than a couple games out there before having to sit out again. Incredible considering he’s never been injured before.
He’s a monster for me in NBA 2K haha.
damn
we need Deron, Sundiata, and Damion against NY. This stinks. I’m really not looking forward to it

Money,
Relax yourself……..Sundiata and Damion would not have even seen the court during the game with the Knicks………Deron, after his long abscence, would not have played up to his potential.
Be happy that you have Farmer starting and Uzoh as the backup. Stay in reality…….

what the hell are you talking about
Damion James was our starting small forward and would have been assigned to guard Anthony the entire contest
Sundiata was one of our best bench players and would have probably done so damage against a Knicks team that plays at a high pace and zero defense
Once again, you show the forum that you have no clue as to what you’re rambling on about. I love you as a Nets fan, but your opinions are baffling.
Do not tell me that I need to step into reality when you spout off stuff like this.
Deron on the floor at 75% and winded is better than any other player on this roster.

If Deron started Money, Farmer would have assumed the backup duties…..Sundiata would have never seen the court like I said before.
Damion James was coming back from injury if he played….thus rest assured he would not have been starting either way, let alone play any substantial minutes.
Again…..I will throw out the “reality” term again and let you decide if it applies.

Despite the fact that Sundiata did see the court about 8-10 mins a game when DWill was playin
And that DJ started his first game back from his injury…

agree we should have kept jordan crawford is a scorer james has no quickness and really no j he is garbage
One is shooting 38% and the other is shooting 45%
Who’s the one shooting worse?
Jordan Crawford. Who has the J again?
I like DJ’s size, hustle, leaping ability, and he has shown some scoring ability with tough hook shots, fadeaways, and decent moves getting to and finishing around the rim.
by Anthony Perez on Mar 29, 2011 3:59 PM EDT up reply actions
James has scored 110 points in his entire NBA career and you must have seen them all considering you believe he has shown some scoring ability with tough hook shots, fadeaways, and decent moves getting to and finishing around the rim.
by netsfanforlife on Mar 29, 2011 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions
HA!
Learn how to
A) watch basketball, and
B) do some math
In games where James has played more than 20+ minutes, he has:
- 7 ppg on 49% shooting
- He’s averaging only 5.7 shot attempts per game, translating into 1.22 points per attempt.
Your boy Crawford, in games where he’s played 20+ minutes is averaging:
- 16 ppg (GOOD, RIGHT!?!?!? … NO!) because it’s on 33% shooting.
- He’s averaging 21.8 shot attempts per game, translating into an abysmal .7 pts per shot attempt.
Even worse, because Crawford is chucking shots left and right and missing 67% of them, that means that unless his team is grabbing those offensive rebounds, Crawford’s “shoot first, score eventually” mentality wastes between 14-15 possessions per game for his team, which can be turned into points on the other end of the court.

james was the 24th overall pick
if all went according to plan, he would have been backing up lebron james, or even carmelo anthony. even after all the injuries, its obvious that he would be our first choice at SF. he’s a rookie, and in what little time he has had, he’s out performing a $7mil/year veteran and anyone else we try to play at the SF.

Age, injuries, questionable effort, 1 dimensional play etc. plague all of them except Varejao.. and none of those factors apply to Hump.
He’s limited offensively, which he knows, thus he’s efficient (50%+ and dunks when he can)
He rebounds at an elite level
He’s become an above average defender
He’s only 26
He doesn’t have a history of injuries
He’s a good character guy
etc…

Keyon Martin is proven, Reggie Evan also proven, Kristic nice offensive complement to Lopez, Landry nice piece all for 3-4 Million can be had.

So to say we will get KMart, Landry, Kristic
Evans to take pay cuts to come here and start is silly. Offering KMart 3-4 mil probably would get Billy King Slapped. And you using Reggie Evans name and the word proven. Kristic is a nice piece for 4 Million why not, and Landry isn’t starting quality.
You were the one saying you wanted Arenas so don’t talk.
"I think I’m the best point guard in the league. No reason. I just think I’m the best.’’-Deron Williams.
Yes i did want arenas and he still can possibly return to a serviceable form
And with all this Dwight Howard talk dont be surprised when they ask us to take back Arenas.
As far as KMart if your getting him INSTEAD of Hump then your expecting KMart to start. Four million per for a starting PF coming off a 92 million dollar deal is wishful thinking at best. And Kristic? Been there done that. Defense athletisism toughness and rebounding were never things mentioned in his game now you want him back?
And if you people have learned anything NOTHING PISSED DERON OFF MORE THAN LETTING HIS TEAMATES WALK TO SAVE A BUCK. IF we let Hump walk Deron won’t be too far behind just on principle.

Big baby or Kmart
Chandler could come cheaper maybe
Lopez / Petro
Hump(5.5 or Less) / Martin
Chandler / Outlaw
Morrow / Smith

Reality Check
I hate to burst bubbles but
-W Chandler is restricted and was traded for Melo. The nuggets have to match any offer made for Chandler to show that they got something in the trade. So for all of the “I’d rather have Chandler” posters, you know who you are, please stop already. No ish you’d rather have Chandler he is the best SF availible. I think Den knows that.
-Thornton is a restricted FA also but might be availible if we overpay alot. People on here dont want to give Hump fair market value but are willing to overpay for Thornton. 6’4’’ SG who score 20 are fun too watch but dont win you games unless they are ultra defenders like Wade. Thornton is not Wade, he is more Monta Ellis. Look at how many games GS have won. TOO EXPENSIVE
-Big Baby is an intricate part on a top 5 team. Boston should value him above all others yet they probably will let him walk. Why is that? Maybe it’s because people who have trouble keeping their weight down in their early 20’s dont age well in the NBA. If you need an example then ask the Knicks how that whole Eddie Curry contract worked out for them.
-Chuck Hayes. Unless your name is Charles Barkley then 6’5" post players dont win in the NBA. They are defensive liablities. I know people will argue that Hayes is in the top 10 in taking charges. When you look at the list you will see that he is the only non guard on the list. Tonight will be a good example when you Lopez score 25+ on him and actually look confident doing it.

He’s got the rest of the season to play starter minutes with CP3 – should give us a small sample of what he can do with that type of PG. He played decent in Utah and now, check out the last 2 games he has started for NO. Might be worth monitoring, he is a UFA.
