I was on the phone tonight and received a call from an 800 number, which I never pick up. After hanging up I checked the voicemail: it was from Sundance Vacations and that form I filled out at the Nets game (you know the ones those guys keep pushing on you to fill out) had won me a prize! I called back, intrigued by what I thought could be a legitimate giveaway.
The woman was really personable and had to tell me, you won't believe it, that I had been selected for a 3 day Royal Caribbean cruise - all food and airfare included!! All I had to do was bring my fiance in to their office because it is a "promotional giveaway". The deal was that we would listen to their sales pitch and pay for the taxes and then everything was free. I was almost convinced that something good was going to come out of the two losses I witnessed this week at the Pru Center.
I may be tired but I am no dummy. Of course I googled Sundance Vacations and read all sorts of horror stories. They badger you into buying these vacation packages that are really so restrictive you cannot use them or even redeem your "free prize". If you give them your number, which I stupidly did, they'll keep on calling and harassing you.
I know the Nets are not the only team that lets these guys in their arena (she told me they do it at the Wells Fargo Center), I still find it despicable. These people are a nuisance and are highly unethical. Who knows if their agreement is with the Nets or the Pru Center but whoever it is, I think we have grounds for complaint.
