Uzoh Being Recalled from Springfield
With Deron Williams' return uncertain, the Nets are recalling Ben Uzoh from Springfield, following Tuesday's Armor game vs. Sioux Falls. Uzoh has played three games with Springfield. He has averaged 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 31.3 minutes a game. The Armor won one of the three games.
The Nets currently have four point guards on their roster, all but Uzoh signed for next season.

Lmaoooo!! This has nothing to do with Deron.
Its because Sasha and Morrow are slumping.
Gaines cant hit a free throw, he is actually shooting worse than Boone was at the line.
Farmar seems to play good for only a 1/2 a game now.
Welcome back Uzoh.
Oh and Graham does nothing of value.
Gaines' FT form is fine, other than not bending his knees a little (to use more body) and thinking too much.
The Nets’ coaches deserve blame if they can’t correct his FT shooting.
Nets could extend Uzoh too, since he would be a minimum player (about $770,000).
He could easily be moved at a later time, if he proves to be decent.
Nets are awful with forcing turnovers and fast break points as well as creating their own shots.
Gaines and Uzoh help.
Give Uzoh a chance
Let’s see if his short stint in D-League has paid off. It’s not as if anyone else is tearing it up on the court right now.

Surgically repaired foot
Not all that surprising. He’ll heal to 100% during the off season.

It is unfortunate.
We won’t know the future value of DJames when making important decisions this summer.
Gaines plays like a vet...Nets are getting a discount...
only way Uzoh stays is he somehow turns himself into a deadeye shooter from long range so he can play as a combo guard-shooter-wing defender
Agreed
I thought Gaines was a fantastic backup last night. Plays with a ton of confidence. I wish he’d hit more free throws, but he’s really a 3rd string right now.
Farmar is a trade chip this summer I think.

we have to free up cap space

There is no Star player in free agency that we need to clear up cap space for.
We won’t make rash decisions thinking that it will appease DWill to re-sign.
Therefore Farmar won’t be traded until the right moment.
Eh.
It’s generally good practice to not spend money on below average players.
We should trade Farmar even if we didn’t need the cap space.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Famar’s got a good contract. Not spending money on the bench is a large part of what killed us at the end of the Kidd era.
On June 29th, 2001, the New Jersey Nets and the Phoenix Suns agreed to a trade involving Stephon Marbury and Jason Kidd.
On February 23rd, 2011, the New Jersey Nets and the Utah Jazz agreed to a trade involving Devin Harris and Deron Williams.
A new beginning. LETS GO NETS!
Let uzoh go keep the new guy who looks like a vet
by Ammo23 on Mar 22, 2011 10:03 AM EDT via mobile reply actions
the new guy, gaines, is a vet. he went undrafted in the 08 or 09 draft
and by vet you mean like joey graham a career backup only gets PT on bad teams, starts on historically bad teams
for now farmar is so inconsistent. the fact that he more often than not looks equal to gaines and uzoh means he has to go. gaines and uzoh can do his job for a combined 3 million and his 4 million salary can go to a team that doesnt have an all-nba point guard

age difference is small
like two years. Uzoh is 23 (this week), Gaines is 24, (soon to be 25).
Other Nets in that 22 through 25 group: Wright is 23; James is 23; Farmar is 24, Petro is 25…and Lopez is the youngest Net…still…at 22.
which is why i dont understand why people want all these old vets
it was different with boston. pierce was a falling star with two soli young pieces that needed help. the fact that deron williams should perform at peak level for about 6 more years at least means this team needs a young core.
whats the point of signing guys who will be on the brink of retirement in 4 years of injuries dont accelerate that process? i want a blazers/spurs type franchise playoff run not a seattle sonics with ray allen run

D-Will, Farmar and Gaines is the PERFECT point guard rotation. I’m not sure we touch it this off season.
If we can upgrade, I definitely touch this.

Agreed coach Joe I like that rotation

Unless Farmar brings you a wing in a trade, I agree

at $3.75 million?
what wing is that?
Farmar is a 24 year old backup point guard with two rings who can get you 25 points or 17 assists in a starting role. He is not a complete player, but he is also a 24 year old backup point guard with two rings who can get you 25 points or 17 assists in a starting role.
Not a whole lot of players can do that…AND play alongside your starting point guard.
NBA players usually reach their athletic peak at age 25 and their overall peak at around 28.
NOT ONE member of the Nets rotation is 28.

Of course I meant as part of a trade

Forget about wings
How about using that money to keep Hump… you know, somebody who is actually above average?
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
i think we need to keep farmar unless its for a cant miss player that u cant refuse in a trade
i dont see gaines or uzoh as full time backup
gaines cant even hit free throws
Gaines can’t hit a free throw? Don’t think he’s going to improve?
