I will try and make this short because this topic has been discussed ad nauseam. Tonights game, and most games this season, was a clear example of why we do in fact need a player like David West. Our offense is just not that good. Period. We rely on the jump shot too much.

-Right now we are a jump shooting team - with only a few exceptions. DJames plays around the rtim and Lopez obviously can play in the post. But Brook often has games where he just would rather stand on the perimiter.

-Farmar, Morrow, Sasha and Outlaw are all perimiter players. If their shot isnt falling, we arent scoring much. We simply do not get enough easy baskets around the rim.

-West has his shortcomings - but he CAN score and can get easy baskets. His defense and age aside - we NEED that on this team, not just so these games can become watchable offensibvley, but because Deron needs a go-to guy on offense.

-Hump is great for us. He will and should be re-signed, no doubt. But he doesnt bring much offensively and his energy is perfect for 30 min a night off the bench as a backup PF and C. (Go small at times - leave Petro on the bench)

I just get the feeling watching this team that Deron is often looking around for that man he can go to on offense to get an easy bucket when needed and he's just not seeing him.

Too many shooters, Hump limited offensively and Brook not always being aggressive, means David West might be our only option.
