Thoughts on Lopez, D-Will and the Barclays Center

Lopez is beasting right now! A little less than 8 boards and more than two and a half blocks per game since D-Will suited up for his first game with the Nets.  Big ups to our big man. When you factor in the confidence he is showing  to take over when he needs to offensively e.g. the Olajuwon move he put on the other day late in the game and the Baby hook over Big Baby......OH BABY!! (in my opinion, biggest shot of the year for the Nets.....sure its nice to have a Bonafide Stud like D-Will do a highlight crossover and pop a three to put the nail on the coffin but Lopez’ shot was humungous.)

& about those crossovers... His wrists should be hurting with the speed that he crosses the ball over. (That was a compliment by the way for the haters that might misinterpret that). I like how Sasha Pablovich just kept going when D-Will crossed him over in the second quarter. That was the equivalent of tripping over a crack in the sidewalk and playing it off like you just skipped on your own terms and walking it off like nothing happened instead of looking around to see if anyone saw you. Real cool.

I stopped by the new arena on Sunday.(check the fanshot I took) The amount of concrete ramps and metal stairs along with the steel posts that been placed in such a short period of time is really impressive. Having not been there in a few months and noticing how the shopping areas around the arena have so much more of a  “Manhattan” feel to them since I was last there. I do not know the dimensions  but just looking at the space that the Barclays Center is confined to and comparing it to the space the new Yankees Stadium has, I can only imagine how much more technology is going to be packed into this building considering that it will cost about  the same to build.
