What Was The Best Move For the Nets?
After witnessing the start of the Deron Williams era, I am interested in knowing what everyone thinks about the moves the Nets made (trading for Deron Williams) and the moves the Nets didn't make: failing to sign Lebron or Bosh or Wade in free agency and failure to trade for Carmelo Anthony.
I think the best move was trading for Deron Williams as JKidd proved earlier in the decade - building around a top 3 PG is the quickest way to improve your team.
Incidentally however, I think Hump failing to opt out of his contract was the best thing that happened to this team this year.......

this isn't a good poll
The poll says “what’s the best move the nets could have made”
but by all indication the Nets COULDN’T have signed lebron, or got carmelo, or got dwade. so this poll is not really an indication of, well, anything
Excellent point...
however, not everyone is a lawyer so roll with it. You can probably guess what the author of the poll intended.
LBJ by himself would have been SWEET
I dislike bosh.
Getting D-Will is pretty darn amazing though.

As much as I hated it
Lebron. Why? No Outlaw contract first off. But, having him would’ve opened the doors for so much more. Melodrama would’ve been avoided. The idea of Harris and Favors and 2 1sts would’ve still been done for Deron or Melo possibly. The possibilities of what the Nets would’ve accomplished at the beginning of this season are endless.
With that said, Deron is the 2nd best thing above all else.

D-will all the way
LBJ and Melo are solo artists. Bosh is over-rated in my opinion. And i have a hard time even considering Dwade leaving Miami.
Dwill makes our whole team better, and will continue to do so. It was the last thing i could have expected, and the best thing that could have happened.
Welcome Deron! "Big Willie Style" all in it!
Derrick, you will be missed.
I'm with you on LBJ and 'Melo.
Deron is the best for this team in so many ways. I have to disagree with you on Bosh, a little bit, but not much. I think he would have been better than ’Melo. However, my second choice would have been Dwyane Wade. Obviously, he is a great player, a team player and would likely have brought another superstar with him, if he had decided to land in NJ.
Oh definitely
Dwade would be my second choice too, I just really don’t think him leaving Miami was ever going to happen. Seems like he is going to ride his career out down there.
Welcome Deron! "Big Willie Style" all in it!

Agree
Totally agree a great team leader and player is way more important than a big name with huge solo stats.

I am calling your bluff
Outlaw is a WAAAAAY better air-baller than your nephew will ever be. I know he is family, but time to face the facts.
Welcome Deron! "Big Willie Style" all in it!
Derrick, you will be missed.
Whoever voted Bosh
Imma find you

It's LeBron James, by far
The best player in basketball is always better than, well, not the best player in basketball.
If the NBA consisted of 1 on 1 games
then yes, Lebron is the best in the NBA.
Welcome Deron! "Big Willie Style" all in it!

Dude
There are way too many people on this forum who are blinded by the Queens stats.
