Yeah, nobody can say at this point Favors will be a REALLY good player...
but he most likely will be a good player…good enough to contribute to a team and play in the NBA for a long time…
What was the context of this?
I find it odd he’s talking about Favors bad for no apparent reason.

the nets don't need projects...
If the most one can expect is that the player will be “good enough to contribute.” Moreover, any player picked #3 who turns out to be only “good enough to contribute” is a failed pick. Maybe not a Hasheem Thabeet level of failure, but a failure nonetheless.
Favors seems to be a nice fellow and it can’t be easy for a 19 year old kid to hear his name being used as trade bait for half a season, so he gets a pass in his (far from stellar) rookie season. But he’s gotta bring it next year.
I’m hopeful that next year, the Nets can keep Hump for a reasonable price, Lopez can find his rebounding mojo a bit (yes, I know, he’ll never be Dennis Rodman, but if he can average the 8-9 boads of his first two years, I’ll be satisfied) and Favors can devleop into what is expected of him. If all that happens, along with an adequate 10 mpg or so per game from Petro, the Nets will be solid at PF and C.
