In an interview with Al Iannazzone, Devin Harris said he talked to Avery Johnson to consider sending him to a winning team, but that his departure had nothing to do with Johnson who coached him both in Dallas and New Jersey.
"I didn’t necessarily ask for it," Harris said. "It’s not something I asked for, but it’s mutually something we came to an agreement on."
He and Johnson have been widely reported to be at odds in recent weeks. Harris has been upset with his name constantly showing up in trade rumors and Johnson was reportedly unhappy with Harris' inconsistency.
