As the clock ticks down on the trade deadline clock Thursday, Deron Williams, Avery Johnson and Billy King will troop out onto the dais at the PNY Center in East Rutherford to take questions about the biggest Nets trade since the team bagged Jason Kidd in 2001. There may not be as many people as there were at the Knick presser, but it'll be enough.
The press conference will begin at 3 p.m. ET, just as the deadline expires. It will be broadcast live on YES and possibly online. Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel will host. There's no indication that Mikhail Prokhorov, who was last seen heli-skiing in British Columbia, will join the group.
Meanwhile, the Nets and Warriors are still talking about the proposed trade of Troy Murphy and a second round pick for Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric. Once Murphy is traded, he is expected to be waived by Golden State and then be wooed by several playoff teams. King discussed Williams, Murphy, Carmelo Anthony and the impending CBA on WFAN.
