In another indication the Nets are trying to get things done on the trade front, the team canceled a practice scheduled for 6 p.m. ET Tuesday. With so many names in play, the coaches apparently felt it would be better to wait another day to see who will fill the roster. Trade deadline is 3 p.m. ET Thursday.
There are widely conflicting stories on whether the Nets will be able to obtain Danilo Gallinari from the Nuggets for picks or whether Portland would include Wesley Matthews or even Greg Oden (both unlikely) in a trade that would send Devin Harris and Troy Murphy to the Blazers for Andre Miller and Joel Przybilla. Przybilla would likely be cut following a trade. Marc J. Spears also tweets the Nets are interested in sending a first round pick to the Hornets for Marcus Thornton.
The Nets don't play till the weekend, facing the Spurs in San Antonio on Friday night and the Rockets in Houston on Saturday before returning home to play the Suns with Vince Carter.
