Derrick on DeMarcus: "He's a Good Player"
Whether Derrick Favors is a Net on Friday depends a lot on the Knicks, Nets, Nuggets and Carmelo Anthony. The Nets liked him enough to take him over DeMarcus Cousins last June and the two, long time rivals, have been compared in performance and temperament.
A reporter for the Kings caught up with Favors to ask him about Cousins. As could be expected, Favors said all the right things: "Demarcus? He's a good player, good guy to be around, good teammate and all."

Would be nice if Derrick said the following
“Demarcus is a fat POS who’s running his mouse too often too loud. I have a problem with him being drafted too close to me since he’s just way below my talents that I took to Northern shore”

Funny cuz he wants to kill favors
i seen to remember cousin’s saying that he wants to rip favors’s head off!!!
D-Fav is gonna come out in the second half, guns blazing..
yelling “Andre Miller gets me the ball, AGHHH!”
..or something like that.
If we had a do over... would we draft Cousins or Favors?

paul george
or monroe maybe.
favors isn’t assertive enough and cousins is the next zach randolph. i’ve really grown to not be a big fan of either of them.
really though, this draft was weak.
they are cute together
I am VERY against Lebron, completely ignoring the stats. He ruins teams, despite what his great stats say. I dont care what anyone says, he ruins teams. - anonymous nets fan

Cousins will be taking his talents to Anaheim.

Wow I sure hope Derrick hits some growth spurts
But for as much talent as Cousins has his team is no better than ours and he is already showing that he is a huge headcase.
Still prefer favors just want to see some steady growth
The JETS/NETS are coming!

and yeah, i think the respect is onesided
i get the feeling that cousins doesn’t like favors at all.
Cousins doesn't seem to like anything but himself and cookie dough
I was on the Cousins bandwagon this summer, but for all his talent I’m glad we didn’t waste a pick on him. He strikes me as a guy that’s going to wear out his welcome often and bounce around the league causing distractions and losing everywhere he goes.

I'd like to see Favors remain on this team
Let’s just go ahead and nix the Melo trade situation. Make it happen with Portland.
If you watched Friday game,
he hit some jumpers. He would develop his game. Somebody needs to work with him on confidence and being active all the time. Coaches need to give him a bigger role. We are not going anywhere now so why not play him more and run plays for him more. His hook shot is almost there. He will get it all in time. Just need to be patient.

Favors shouldve taken the Carmelo route...
DeMarcus Cousins? Man, I dont know anything about any DeMarcus Cousins. I dont know where yall get this stuff…
Favors doesn't hate him.
Why do ya’ll hate him?

Favors might not ever get a technical foul
I see a facsimile of Dale Davis in short order and then hopefully more than that in long order. He had that one red flag game recently when Avery let him play through his foul difficulty, but he didn’t respond well.
One thing that gives me assurance is that Draft Express has been covering Derrick’s progress since 2007. They did a rookie-year retrospective on him in January and said he’s on track with the promise that they foretold for him the past few years. I would think if this year’s performance truly were a disappointment, they would have noted it. But they said this year is in keeping with their expectations from 2007 to now. Since they didn’t point out any major let down in parabolic trajectory, I take that as a good sign.
Nets = Global
Knicks = Local
He was always a project
To me, the only thing you can say about him this year is that he isn’t exceeding expectations. But the expectations are pretty high for him as he continues to develop.
