For Greene, Last Chance at NBA

Stay connected for news and updates

Orien Greene can play basketball.  He played 80 games as a rookie for the Celtics, in spite of being drafted six spots from the end of the draft. But off the court issues, including a failed drug test, forced him into the itinerant life of a marginal player, with stops in Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Auckland and Orem, Utah.

Now, two days away from his 29th birthday, Greene knows this is his "last chance" at an NBA career and promises to "go balls to the wall", as he told writers at today's shootaround.  But with Ben Uzoh having played his best game as a pro vs. the Nuggets and Jordan Farmar hoping to be back Friday, Avery Johnson thinks Greene will only see action in an emergency situation.
