Most rookies including Derrick Favors and Wesley Johnson bought a car. That's not suprising, that's what most young people will think about doing.

What caught my attention was what John Wall, Demarcus Cousins and a few of the other rookies said they bought. They bought their mothers a house.

That purchase tells me a lot about John Wall,  Demarcus Cousins and the person that they truly are. I can relate to Cousins because I got into trouble over silly things when I was a teenager. It took me until I was 23 years of age before I was truly mature. Now I am 32 years old with an MBA and a functioning productive member of our society. I am much more patient with people before putting a permanent label on them based on my experiences.

Let's stop judging and defining people by mistakes they make especially when they are young. These mistakes do not define them. A lot of people learn from mistakes they make in their youth and grow from them. Sports organizations should provide an environment that fosters positive reinforcement and provide mentors to help young players adapt to their new professional lives.
