With Jerry Sloan resigning as head coach, the Jazz are probably going to start going downhill a bit which will frustrate Deron Williams to the point that he may want to be traded. Deron Williams is a top 3 point guard in the NBA today and he's the type of point guard that will help to make players around him better (ala Jason Kidd in his prime). If the Nets miss out on Chris Paul, perhaps they should make a move at D-Will before some team starts sending offers toward the Jazz.
Remember how the Nets started to turn themselves around in the early 2000s when they acquired Jason Kidd, who was one of the best point guards in the NBA back then? Well, the Nets could certainly repeat that trend again if they were to acquire Deron Williams as their new point guard. Like K-Mart was for the Nets, Lopez can serve as the Nets best big man. Then, the Nets should draft a decent scorer in this year's draft who can be similar to or better than Richard Jefferson was for the Nets. Morrow can serve as our Kerry Kittles at SG and either Humphries or someone else can serve as a decent Power Forward for us. If the Nets can do something similar to what they did in the early 2000s, they can be right back on top.
Not to mention, that would be a GREAT way to open up the arena in Brooklyn. Also, it would help to attract New Yorkers who are not sure which team to cheer for between the Knicks and Nets if both teams are stationed in New York. Let's get it poppin and start off the early 2010s on a good note. Go Nets
