Devin is playing well. Yes i did write a fanpost asking to trade Devin Harris and I stick by it still.
Devin is looking real good right now. He's passing the ball more and playing consistent defense but the Nets did lose 2 straight on the road. (30 point blowout to Indy and a 10 point loss in his hometown) Devin was outplayed by Darren Collison, and Brendan jennings. Devin still has a long way to go before he is an elite PG. Chris Paul doesnt let his team get blown out by 30 points especially not Indiana. Slow down Devin Harris fans. He is stil trade bait.
Devin is doing a couple of key things that make him look good but dont be fooled
1. Passing to the post - last night Devin forced a pass to Favors after he was pushed way out of the paint, then KMart stole the ball on a bad pass. Devin needs to be patient and make textbook passes to the post player and reset when the player is pushed out of the post. Getting an easy bucket might take a couple of tries but its more productive than holding the ball or dribbling for 10 seconds. An elite pg would pass the ball, ask for it back, then direct the post player to either repost or spin towardss the basket for a reset.
2. Using his dribble drive to pass the ball - FINALLY! Devin still needs to learn how to stutter a little bit or something to draw the 2nd defender then pass to the open man inside. Thats where easy buckets come from. Most of Devins assists are coming from kick outs to wing players. He has to get the ball to the bigs to draw fouls and dunks. Devin seems to be allergic to passing in the paint. If he jumps, he's gonna shoot, never a wraparound or bounce pass in the paint
Yes Devin in making progress, the whole team is, but dont be fooled Nets fans
