An Ironic Day for the NBA

Interesting that the same day the NBA will be ratifying the new CBA, a small market team will be losing a superstar to a large market team. Glad the owners held firm and made sure competitive balance will be part of the new NBA.

I'm sure somewhere south of heaven, Stern is cackling and raising his pitchfork in triumph. Particularly when the Lakers deal the overrated Bynum and garbage to Orlando to bring in the 4th once-in-a-generation center the Lakers will have in their illustrious history.

Way to go, NBA. I guess ESPN is right. There are only 6 teams in the NBA and a bunch of schedule-fillers.

This is a dark day for the NBA. Frankly, I'd rather have seen the season go by the wayside if it would have given small-market teams a better chance to retain their stars. They may as well just contract the league to 10-12 teams so every team can be a superteam. No need for the Nets, Kings, Bucks, Pacers, Clippers, T'Wolves, etc. They can be just a farm system for the haves.

Stunning prediction - Williams bolts for the Mavs next summer and the Nets go into Brooklyn with Lopez and the scrubs. Yah!
