Kris Humphries Looking For A Fresh Start
Kim Kardashian and her family are painting a pretty unflattering picture of him right now, but Kris Humphries has no choice but to just get back on the basketball court and do what he was doing before he met the the reality star.
And he's also hired top Hollywood divorce lawyers to help get his marriage "annulled".
He charges that Kardashian defrauded him into thnking she was in it for love.
On Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski caught up with Humphries, who is working out in Minnesota and waiting for the free agency dominoes to fall, so that he can find out where he'll be playing this season.
"I approach my job, my life, in the same way that I’ve always done here," Humphries told Woj. "I’ve always been putting in the time. That’s my life. That’s what I do."
Woj writes that the Nets would like to keep Humphries, but they're chasing Nene and Tyson Chandler first.

Hope Nets have enough $$ to have a Nene/Chandler=Humphries=Lopez big rotation.

exactly what I was thinking
Lopez, Chandler and Humphries off the bench would be a great big man rotation. don’t forget the rook Jordan Williams too
http://www.hoopsworld.com/dwight-howard-spells-it-out-for-orlando/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dwight-howard-spells-it-out-for-orlando&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=twitterfeed
this is what happend in the meeting with dwight
i guess...
…orlando didn’t learn from the Cleveland debacle. For all intent and purposes, I’d like to see D12 stay in Orlando. Nets can get pieces around DWill that’ll satisfy him. Would be a big “win” for the NBA to have CP3 traded to a team that makes sense for the Hornets and CP3 is fine with; to have DWill stay with Nets; to have D12 stay in Orlando.
that sounds good
But whatever we do, we have to be decisive and aggressive. Either trade for Dwight now, or sign Chandler/Nene.
will see what happens
people forget that even if we dont get dwight we still have Lopez hes a good center young and didnt missed a game in 3 years hes kind of iron man
Just Brook is not nearly enough to keep Deron
We have to make the playoffs and at least get to the second round. Everyone knows Brook is good, but we need another big piece and additional role players.
this year we have marshon he may turn out a great player plus we may grab nene or chandler well se hope for the best
We don't have to go to the second round, if for example we lose to Miami in round 1.
Just need to have upside.
If we lose to Miami in the first round
that means we were an 8 seed. I just don’t see that being enough with Deron. That’s why i believe the future of this franchise for the next decade can be decided by getting or not getting Dwight. Dwight makes us contenders instantly, Nene/Chandler get us closer but we would still need a Gay/Grander/Smith type to fill the roster out.
I'd love to have Humphries back. If it weren’t for his post-up deficiencies, he'd be in our minds as a potential starter.
He can still be somewhat of an Omer Asik type.
by OTRWaldo on Dec 7, 2011 4:53 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Asik type?
I see no comparison at all bro but I do like Asik and Humphries’ game tho

After the tremendous effort that Hump put out last year he gets treated like this……I’m fine with Nene or Chandler on the Nets but Hump should be the teams 1st priority……..Total lack of integrity……..At least make the guy an offer….C’mon……

I think the Nets are concerned with just the big free agents for now
Once they know who they’ve got, they’ll start talking to Hump
Though I’d like him off the bench no matter who we get, especially if we get Nene
I would sign Humphries first…before teams get desperate and throw more money at him.

What if they strike out on their first, second and third options? Meanwhile guy’s like Hayes go elsewhere…
Wonder if they could have afforded Hayes along with their second or third option?

With Nets fans and Hump, I think it's just a case of the grass is greener on the other side.
If there was a PF who averaged 10.0 PTS and 10.4 REB on another team on 52.7% FG% that was 2nd in the league in total rebound percentage, we would be dying to sign him.
Especially if said player had little to no interest on the FA market.
The Nets should definitely keep this guy.

didn't see this in new CBA
_ The amount teams can pay toward buying an international player out of his contract is increased by $25,000 each season ($525,000 in year 1 of the CBA, $550,000 in year 2, etc.), and the rule now also applies to American players who are playing overseas.
Anything that lets Nets spend more and show Proky’s pockets can’t hurt.

i like hump and he could do a lot off the bench
just gotta wonder how much of his stat inflation was due to brook’s ineptitude
dwill to howard -> kidd to kmart 2.0
In his first year with NJ,
He had an 18.0% TRB% – 26.7 DRB% & 10.0 ORB% 8.1 PTS 6.4 REB in 20.6 Minutes
This year – 22.1 & TRB& – 32.2 DRB% & 12.5 ORB% 10.0 PTS & 10.4 REB in 27.9 Minutes
Career – He has an 18.0% TRB% – 24.7 DRB% & 11.7 ORB% 5.6 PTS & 4.7 REB
He has always been a good rebounder. Is it that unfathomable that he made improvements in Avery’s system with more playing time?
He could definitely recreate the PTS & REB production with D-Will IMO. The rebounding percentages might go slightly down, but he is still an elite rebounder.
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
One thing to think about: the lakers and clippers have both spoken with Orlando about Dwight and that information was leaked
The nets obviously have spoken to Orlando but that information has not been leaked…..
that silence is frightening though
it could either we pull off a franchise changing acquisition or we completely strike out. Billy King is either a genius or completely incompetent. that uncertainty is why we’re all so on edge…
another B issue in new CBA
_ Players can agree to wear a microphone for one nationally televised game per month, one locally televised game per month, and up to two playoff games per round, and no player can be subject to discipline for content captured as a result of wearing a microphone.
To bad Nets won’t get a chance to wear the mic this season.

Hump+Nene/Chandler
Would give us a contender level big man rotation. Would love to re-sign him for a reasonable cost
Can someone answer this for me?
As it stands, right now, at this minute, how much cap do we have assuming we still have Outclaw? Obviously it will be 7mil more without him.
Okay so my thinking is
Amnesty the Crab
23 mil
Nene/Chandler (I’m growing more on Chandler, even though I have been backing Nene): hopefully no more than 12 or 13, but will probably be 14 or 15
Sign Hump for probably around 6 or 7
Can we get a decent SF for like 2 or 3 mil?
We’d have a fantastic big man rotation, but the wings would still leave so much to be desired
Oh right! Forgot about the bird rights
that’s a very good thing… so we really can’t wait on signing a SF. honestly, as terrible as this might sound, that might need to be our priority over the big name PFs right now…
by bronxbombers2 on Dec 7, 2011 5:49 PM EST up reply actions
Once the cap space is all used up
with Nene/Chandler and that SF, you can’t use Hump’s Bird rights like that. We’d only have the mini-MLE left, 3 mil to start, through 3 years.
The earlier proposal would work though. Nene/Chandler and Hump with the 23 mil cap space, then an SF for the 3 mil mini-MLE.
okay i was right in my original thinking then
i was just a little confused about the new MLE guidelines

The MLE contract argument would be acceptable if the Nets had been in position to use it when they signed Trav.
Signing trash to an MLE level contract without being maxed out and in the position to use the MLE is just a ridiculous waste of cap space.

What's the plan if...
Nene and chandler both sign / re-sign some place else? Our options are slim after those two, and completely striking out again will set the team back.
I say that the Nets should sign young players with upside to reasonable contracts to meet the salary floor and re-sign Hump.
Those young players could be valuable in a Dwight trade similar to how Felton was dealt to Denver.

If fans on here want to spend the year worrying about dwill, then they are more than welcome too...
I refuse to do so. I want to enjoy my team and the NBA. I want to watch Marshon play…
Even without a big signing
I think the Nets could surprise a lot of people with Deron Williams playing an entire season with us. Not saying we would be contenders or anything…. but A LOT better.
We need to make Deron happy
and if you’re a true NETS fan, that’s all that matters.
If Deron leaves, this franchise is screwed.
Really? No offense but that sounds a little pathetic...
Making Deron happy is not what this franchise needs. Making the right moves for now and the future is what the franchise needs. This franchise cannot be run by what Deron wants. That’s the sure way to failure…

Disagree.
We need to make Deron happy, if you’re a true NETS fan, that’s all that matters.
If you are a true Nets fan, you want the team to be in the best position possible to win a championship.
Thank you for speaking common sense...
The nets are going to mess around and make a bunch of dumb signings (Butler 7 mill per) trying to please dwill guy. And then where will we be for the next 3-5 years? We have to make moves to benefit this franchise…
It's all based on the presumption of a one-to-one correspondence between Nene signing and Deron signing
LeBron co-signed Antawn Jamison and still left.
If the Cavs had gotten Nene, LeBron probably would still have left.
Where is this proof of a one-to-one correspondence?
But Tom, Deron is more likely to stay if Nene or Chandler signs here
Maybe…That’s conceivable. It’s also conceivable cap strapping the team with an albatross contract for Nene is off-putting. There’s no proof either way.

Sounds to me, NI...
That we will not be getting either Nene of Chandler… Not that I expect that you have all the insight, however I do think you know more than you let on, and you can’t deny you have been throwing off subtle hints to that affect over the last few days…hmmm
Not to mention Avery’s comments on Michael Kay today saying, the team can look a whole lot different at the All Star Break or at the trading deadline… Just sayin…
The best Cavs player when Lebron was there was Mo Williams
and those washed up vets. The Cavs front-office absolutely sucked at getting Lebron players.
The Nets situation isn’t close to being a Cleveland. It could possibly form a Brook + Nene/Chandler frontcourt even if they miss out on Dwight. That’s not the equivalent of just a Mo Williams.
why?
for the same reason it has been hard for the Nets to get players. They played in a small market.

No, he doesn't.
In fact, I’d argue that there are some here that are more qualified to judge what a player is worth.
He’s a better evaluator of talent and potential on-court performance; not contract size.

Some players are definately not good at determning contracts. Mind you Deron strikes me as a very smart player off the court. Either way we’re all just poeple at the end of the day with opinion whose to say which one is better. Deron comes from a class of thinking that supports players getting as much money as they can.

My main question for NI is
if your point (above) regarding the overpayment of important, but not central players occurs, in spite of LuxTax would that not leave us saddled with unmovable contracts that are too bloated for any other team to make sense of?
Would it be possible to overpay with front loaded years 1 and 2? That would still leave us flexible with expiring big contracts in 2012 off season yes?
Jet Black Ninja

you mean like the Mavs and Lakers
who have had the biggest luxury tax bills in the NBA over the last four years and won three of the four championships?
Like them?
You guys are too caught in cap space. It’s about getting players and the Nets WILL have to overpay to get guys at least this year. So you pay.
And just to remind you, with the Outlaw amnesty, the Nets will be $34 million BELOW the luxury tax which is still dollar for dollar through the end of next season.
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
Mavs and Lakers core championship assets were
Dirk and Kobe who they drafted not purchased. Opportunity and luck plays a big, big role.
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
I didn't say I had any issue with the overpay...
My question was about the long-term ramifications of the overpay. For instance, if you have a large contract on an aging pseudo star that you overpayed for one might expect that this might result in a difficult situation down the road. I was just wondering if there might be any mechanics at work in the FO suggesting front loading of contracts with increased LuxTax in the first 2-3 years. Or if the new CBA has any impact on those types of options.
Nothing against LuxTax if you have our owners pockets (i.e., MAVs LAL), but talent has a value and its not always reflected accurately through the lens of market demand and availability. You overpay to throw your weight around and take talent away from other interested teams, not make bad deals for players that don’t deserve the dollars because you’re desperate.

Real pity its not J Smoove thats the free agent instead of nene and chandler
The more I think about it the more I think he’s the prefect player to play with both Deron and Brook. A power forward and has the right mix of skills between Nene and Chandler to make him exactly what the team needs. Bumber.

I think if we don’t get Dwight by opening night, we should just forget about it unless Otis comes crawling back to us. The leaks and rumors will get in the heads of Brook and it will turn into another wasted season.

they really didnt want to. I believe RJ opted out thinking he would get a massive payday(like Carlos Boozer payday)
no one barked. the spurs were happy but realized they had a huge void and really had no other choices(john salmons? joe johnson? etc) and reluctantly(tremendous understatement) brought him back
but believe Holt was making sure he got all his say in the amnesty procedures because they really dont want to keep him and Pop really cant work with outside of stand in the corner and shoot if you are open

I understand why some of you don't want to spend money
on players that may or may not bring us a title. I get it.
What I don’t get is the thought that this franchise will be just fine moving forward if Dwill leaves.
IF Dwill leaves, we are finished for awhile. The thought that free agents will just come flocking to the “Nets” after another embarrassment is a dream.
Brooklyn makes us more attractive for sure, but good luck building a title contender after losing the best player this franchise has had since Kidd and having little assets to work with.
it is a not a dream. It is a DELUSION

I don't think that players will come flocking to the Nets in that case.
I don’t think they will until the Nets have a legitimate contending team.
If the Nets prove they have a solid playoff team in Brooklyn with cap space, players will come.
Playing with a mediocre team for 5 years will only push back the timetable for rebuilding.
I say the sooner the better if a championship team is not currently buildable.

the moves that were made in 2008-09 and 2009-10 were financial moves to reduce losses, when the Nets had arguably the NBA’s least wealthy owner who was drowning in debt.

not true
they really thought they were going to get Rudy Gay, where shocked when on July 2 he agreed to max with the Grizzlies. Then, after failing to get the Big Three or Boozer or anyone else, they came up with a B list of players. Outlaw was on it. So were the three other free agents signed as was Tyrus Thomas who verbally agreed to sign with the Nets, then changed his mind overnight. (thank God).

I thought entering the summer the big 3 aren’t realisitic but the nets will probably leave with Rudy Gay.
"Next year, with a full training camp, I think he can go after that Scott Skiles' record of 30." - Billy King
but he could have declined Memphis offer sheet
threatened to accept the QO and become a UFA for this current offseason and the Grizz would have liklely lost him for nothing.
And then he could have told the Grizz to orchestrate a sign-and-trade with the nets(like David Lee did)

You know what
That’s a good point, and I agree with this. If we don’t land either Nene or Chandler, we have to just go Dwight or Bust. Sign a few guys on one year contracts or a guy like Thad Young or Afflalo who can be used as a trade asset and wait for Dwight. I’d almost rather hold cap space for Dwight and risk not being that great next year as opposed to ruining our flexibility by giving guys like Butler, Glen Davis, etc multiyear contracts. However, if we CAN land either Nene or Chandler, then I do think we should go all in and spend as much as we need to become a top 4 type of team. Either we go all in (Nene/Tyson + Multiyear supporting cast) or save for Dwight (if Tyson/Nene don’t come).

grossly over-rating Lopez
way too much pressure on Lopez to carry the offense with Chandler. Nene is a better fit.

why nene?
why not tyson chandler? we dont need an offensive center. we need someone who plays d and get the boards in the trenches. i like nene dont get me wrong but we need defensive players. we can get offense from other positions IMO..
Why not Tyson Chandler?
He’s a ticking timebomb… I think he might end up to be another Shareef Abdul-Rahim if we try to sign him.
Nene is a good defensive player though , and has some solid offensive skills to go with it.
Chandler is a better defender than Nene , but has no real offensive skills.
"This isn’t fantasy or rotisserie basketball. Why would Denver want Outlaw? Would you?" - Al Iannazzone
Pair Chandler with a good PG and his offense is good
like when CP3 played with Chandler
I don't see why, if the price is right, we can't sign Hump before Nene/Chandler.
We have to keep Hump’s cap hold anyway, which insures that we can give a better offer than other teams.
For example if Nets offer Hump 6.5 million to start, that is equivalent to 8.8 million for another team which can only offer a 4 year contract at a smaller increase.
Hopefully Nets can get Hump at less than 6 million to start, but if they wait to long, some team may go much higher.

Then TA DA Deron traded to the Nets.
Devin for Caron's good knee
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
Regarding Hump's personal life, the Kardashians started a rumor that Kris must be gay, because he didn't want to have sex much after the marriage.
Does that reasoning make any sense? Yet the Tabloids ran “Shocking News: Kris is Gay” as a headline.
Hump could have lots of legal expenses (if he fails to win), and he might be willing to sign a smaller contract ASAP.
he also could have part of the Kardashian fortune
he hired two of Hollywood’s “divorce bombers” guy sknown for tough tactics who are already on the record as saying they want to put her under oath about the financials of the wedding.

If the marriage never happened, how much could he really win?
We will finally find out if Hump really paid anything for that “$2 million” ring.
If he did, he could get that back and some damages for screwing up his life.
And if he claims that Kim made him Gay, he could get more!
they would settle

In the midst of this column on labor discord, @KBergCBS notes the Celtics are also trying for Howard-Paul. bit.ly/s6nWRx Both of them
LMAO now Celtics want both Howard and Paul…SMH
how the hell would that be possible? lol
How do you unload the ancient dinosaurs Allen and Garnett to even think you would be able to make room for Howard and Paul? lol

They might have to give up on overpaying Nene to keep Afflalo and get Young.
That is why Nets may still get Nene, because Denver can only go so high.
Nets aren’t offering more than 13-14 million at this time, for Nene/Chandler yet. I think that is cause for delay in their coming. They want to see Nets show them the Big money first.
ehhh
he reminds me of Outlaw – lite
I would pass, give me a Tayshaun who is proven and has been there.
to be honest thats truee the look identicall lmaoo
but look at his numbers if he is more consistent i think he would benefit from dwill also and is young
apparently he's on Denver's radar

Still think AK would be a good fit, but maybe Deron prefers Butler.
DWill said the Nets need defensive wingS (plural) so maybe Butler is one of two. If Nets strike out on Chandler and Nene, maybe go the Hump route and two defensive wings. Then hope for a blockbuster near all-star break.

A lot of people clean up parks or construct park materials.
They build bridges or benches.
One scout in my troop raised money and distributed reflective address plates to put on the mailboxes in town so that emergency vehicles could spot houses easier.
I met one scout who dressed up as Santa Claus and delivered presents to children suffering from deadly illnesses.
Personally, I raised the money to construct a swing in my local park designed purposely for children burdened by wheelchairs.

I think we should move forward with the assumption that we're not getting Dwight
He still wants to be in Orlando, at least for this year. If they can manage to get an Ellis or Iguodala or Josh Smith, he’s there for good. They’re not gonna budge in the near future so we need to do something else. We can’t sign one year deals because no one’s gonna take one year deals
Like Billy said were trying to win now can’t worry about Dwight.

I'd give Hayes 4 years and 24 million. 4 years and 28 million if that's not enough
Heck, he should take 4 years and 20 from the Nets, why would you choose Sacramento’s rebuilding over playing with DWill?
i don't want hayes lol
that is not gonna help get us better then 8 seed
Nu uh
He’s pretty much the best low post defender in the free agent class, good rebounder and terrific passer. Only issue is his size but he can play
And he's cheap, would be a great 6th man
To cover the Center and PF spots off the bench. No idea why Nets aren’t in for him.
5 million dollars a game, if we sign Hump for a whole lot more than that, just what are we doing?
Hump is great but if Hayes is worth 5 mil a year then he’s worth at most around 6 per year.
He could start on the Nets
But why sign really good players to below-market contracts when you can overpay Nene and Chandler?
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
so say Denver does offer Nene the max

Can't believe the Nets are really mulling whether to wait or spend now
I mean after months of lockout you’d think they’d already analyzed every possible scenario
If you read ever bit of info, you will go crazy.
Im going crazy.

they probably didn't realize denver would offer a max for nene too
they still think they are gonna sell players on a new arena in brooklyn. they clearly don’t care. until they do something on the court they will still be the same jokebox nets in the eyes of NBA players.

Hypothetical
Nets offer Lopez + Tyson + fillers for Hedo and Dwight at the deadline.
Salaries could work, Magic basically swap Hedo for Tyson.
I think that’s a pretty solid deal for them.
I'm sure Tyson will sign right up with the Nets so he can go to a go-nowhere team after winning the championship the year before
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
Not to mention Orlando will love having to pay two (near) max contracts on guys who don't provide nearly the same revenue as Dwight Howard
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
Tyson @ $12mil versus Hedo @ $11mil is a no-brainer
both would have 3-4 years left on their contracts.
Don't the contracts have to be within 150% of each other though?
The reason it isn’t applicable now is because the Nets have cap space.
Brook + Tyson = about 15 million
150% is 22.5 million whereas absorbing Dwight & Hedo is about 31 million.
I guess the Nets could add 6 million in salary. MarShon + Damion + Morrow would be match it I think.
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
Also, I'm not completely familiar with the new CBA so don't kill me if I'm wrong lol.
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
Seems to me they would want to reduce salary rather than rearrange the funiture
Where’s the financial incentive?
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
No team could really offer that financial incentive at that point though.
It would be Tyson + Brook vs. Pau + Bynum
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
I think that decision has already been made
by not dealing Dwight now where they would save a boat load of cap space.
yeah...
Otis doesn’t have cap space as a top priority…has a new arena to fill and try to keep filling.
by BKNfastbreak on Dec 7, 2011 10:13 PM EST up reply actions
And by no choice
I mean the Nets would obviously tell him he’s a building block for the future to get him to sign. If he signs, then he has no choice.
If I were his agent, I would tell him not to sign
If I were Tyson and ended up on the Magic a year after winning the championship, I would fire my agent.
2010-2011 = acquire an All-Star via cap space as Thorn himself said
2011-2012 = make the playoffs without hindering future flexibility
2012 off-season = sign the second All-Star
2012-2013 = make a run for the championship
Mission accomplished thus far.
if we get Tyson for $12M
And throw in Farmar and #1, it seems reasonable.
I still think Dwight is possible at some point. BK is all in trying to set up this team for Brooklyn and DWills FA, and 48 hours of silence suddenly send everyone here into depression.
Stop w/pessimism until at least one of our targets lands somehwere else for sure…

Tyson would be holding out for more than $12 million.
I’m sure his agent knows Nets are good for more than that.

Why the Nets need to swoop in with an offer for Hayes
Over time, people began to realize that Hayes was more than just a rebounder and energy player — he was one of the best defenders in the league. Despite his size, opposing players found it almost impossible to get post position against Hayes, and he bottled up much larger centers and power forwards on a nightly basis.

Are the Nets just chasing after big names to placate DWill or do they want players who will bring the Ws? You can have the most no-name collection of guys and end up with more wins than the team with the big names

NBATV discussing Magic
The analyst (don’t know his name) thinks Magic should trade Howard now so they can get assets and build a new team and develop chemistry.
I agree lol.
by djeterfan on Dec 7, 2011 9:50 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Well I think they have a decent shot at keeping him
It would be foolish to trade him when there’s still a good chance he stays
I really dont think hes going to stay
It seems like he’s got one foot out the door. Idk how Magic can improve their team either bc they are in cap space hell. Jamal Crawford isn’t going to cut it.
by djeterfan on Dec 7, 2011 9:59 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
They probably won't be able to get any of the guys he wants in order to stay
But they have to give it a shot. You don’t wanna trade Howard and then find out you could have done a deal for some reason or another that caused him to stay
if Nets sign Caron and Tyson
I wonder if there will be any available cap room remaining to bring back the Hump.
Will we really not have any space even with his cap hold when we amnesty Outlaw?
Say Butler at 7 million per year and Chandler at 13 million
??????
The Nets obviously have holes on their roster, mainly at the center and small forward positions.
That millisecond you're sure you're going to die when you lean back in your chair a little to far.
Does not really compute for me.
He’ll be guarding 5’s 90% of the time no matter who he plays with. He’ll be the best low post player no matter who they bring via this years free agents.
Sure , he’s a good floor spacer for pick plays and any ISO’s the other guy gets because he can shoot , but that doesn’t make him a PF. He did that for Deron-Hump pick and rolls.

y does people hat farmar??
he did everything that a backup point guard is suppose to do…..his 3 point shot was locked in the whole season…he was clutch and distributed the ball….what else can a backup pg suppose to do?? i think he is the best backup pg in the nba…
He is very good as a backup
which is why he is good trade assest. I wouldnt mind seeing him stay
Nets Mets Giants ALL DAY
deron cant play 48 mins specially this season when there is game every day
this season team with the most depth will win it all or go further
by devinharris34 on Dec 7, 2011 10:09 PM EST up reply actions
Do we still have Gaines under contract
he isnt that bad either. id rather have farmar tho
Nets Mets Giants ALL DAY
I like Farmar, but D-Will averaged 38 minutes a game last year so Farmar is a 4 million dollar unnecessary luxury to play 10 minutes a game.
Gaines can definitely handle the position when it offers so little playing time.
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
dont forget farmar played some 2 last season
specially when the game close and they needed shooters….and desperate for 3’s
by devinharris34 on Dec 7, 2011 10:14 PM EST up reply actions
I'd rather go Morrow and MarShon offensively and spend the cap space used on Farmar for a defender.
MarShon Brooks has the dreaded.
expect him to get more than 10 in the beginning
the nets may go with a 3 guard set
by DJ HeavyDuty on Dec 7, 2011 10:17 PM EST up reply actions
People dont hate Farmar
I just think when you have a stud like DWill playing point, you can get by with a backup like Gaines. Farmer played really well when he started for us last year. But if that 4 mil can be used to ship him away with Petro, you make the deal.
by djeterfan on Dec 7, 2011 10:14 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
On a positive note…
Nets have excellent doctors…so nets wont sign Butler unless he’s healthy.
Thanks the only positive I can come up with.

The problem is we can give him a physical until he agrees to sign with us...
…and last time a player that we signed failed a physical, we got A LOT of bad rep, and lost a lot of time and ended up trading for Marc Jackson to replace that player.
I just looked at Caron's game logs from the past 2 seasons and I'm warming up to him...

by dwill8brooklynbound on Dec 7, 2011 10:09 PM EST up reply actions
He was ready to play but how good would he have been
and how good will he be coming off knee surgery at 31 with many back to back games.
also need to think about using the players we sign as trade assets...
…so another question is how likely is the player going to be injured around all-star break when we need to add someone to the Howard trade?
Couple of thoughts.
1) Should we hope CP3 gets traded to GS? That would likely keep Ellis on the Warriors and away from Orlando. Dwight included Monta on his list of teammates he’d like.
2) Being that the Nets need to ensure Deron has some talent around him before his decision time, we should probably have Deron keep in touch with Howard and monitor where he’s leaning… then we act accordingly. If Howard doesn’t give any indication now, we may just sign Chandler, since Dwight may not get dealt at all.
You hope CP3 gets traded to LAL
for Bynum.
ORL would never take Gasol at his age with that contract for D12.
Even without Paul's intervention, what does Orlando have that GSW wants for Monta? They're not getting Ellis, not since they've got new ownership that wants to win
I’m gonna have Deron keep tabs on Dwight, but i’m doing all my planning assuming that he’s not getting traded this season
Just asked an Orlando fan. They replied: S/T J-Rich, Anderson/Bass, Redick, first pick, cash for Monta and Biedrins.
That doesn't really do anything for GS
They’re giving up the best player in the trade, they don’t need that
Oh thank god they took down my post before lol
Greatly appreciated!!! Was THE worst post I ever made.
Feels good to be back

Clippers management has assured Eric Gordon that he will not be included in any trade package for Chris Paul, league source tells Y!
Clips can still give a decent package though
DeAndre Jordan, Aminu, Bledsoe, the Minny pick, Kaman’s soon to be expired deal, all appealing pieces
But doesnt this just make Dwight want to be a Laker more?
If he really wants to play in Los Angeles AND with Chris Paul, he’d probably take less cash to go as a a free agent. That is unless the Lakers would not be able to afford Dwight. I am not sure about that TBH.
I think it's fine.

come on explain to me
who would take paul gasol?
Doesn't matter
Nets will trade for Dwight w/ out an extension anyway. It’s whoever has the best package.
A GS fan told me they wouldn't include Curry
Since it was too much a risk.
As is GS sounds like smokescreen.
by Jack Handy Jr on Dec 7, 2011 10:17 PM EST up reply actions
I doubt its a smokescreen
Logic says there not moving Curry without an extension from Paul
It's a risk they should be willing to take IMO
They wouldn’t exactly be a losing team, especially if they sign Chandler. Paul, Ellis, Wright, Lee, Chandler isn’t half bad
Teams have to realize, like DWill; Dwight, Paul , whoever, no one is gonna sign an extension when they can make so much more money by opting out. Even if they wanna stay, they’re still not signing an extension
D Wright...
johnhollinger John Hollinger
Note on Warriors’ CP/Chandler dream: Would have to include CBell or DWright as salary flotsam with Curry/Udoh/Thompson package to NO.
thats not holding it up
they need to ensure they can sign chandler and that will be able to convince Paul to stay. Paul and Chandler on the warriors with Monta and Lee is instantly a playoff team. Paul is with his buddy and the best roster he ever had with one of the more loyal fanbases in the country. I cant see him leaving that.
Hornets are fine with Steph and Thompson plus any filler(besides Biedrens) but the Warriors have to get a sniff that Paul will change his mind if they pull off the Paul/Chandler reunion or not
