The Nets' plan A is to trade for Dwight Howard, but Ric Bucher tweets that Orlando GM Otis Smith "has yet to present wish list for DH12 to a single suitor." Bucher later added, "I take it to mean Otis isn't moving DH12 yet".
Similarly, Sam Amick suggests that he'd be surprised if Howard gets moved "anytime soon."
Plans B and C are to sign Tyson Chandler or Nene, but Chandler may play a part of the Chris Paul saga. Adrian Wojnarowski writes that "league sources said Chandler could make a significant difference in ultimately swaying Paul to commit to a long-term deal" with the Warriors or Clippers, who can both present the Hornets with strong packages.
Finally, Amick writes that Nene "met extensively with Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri on Monday and had what was characterized as a positive meeting." The Nuggets have plenty of cap space and can use their bird rights to sign Nene to a fifth year.
