John Schuhmann takes a close look at the Nets situation at the end of a long, exhilarating day for Nets fans, one in which Deron Williams announced his intention to stay with the team, to recruit top players, including of course Dwight Howard.
As Schuhmann writes, the Nets are "either in a precarious position or a propitious one" and when they move to Brooklyn, "they could possibly have two top-10 players under contract for the next five years ... or they could possibly have none".
Comparing the Nets situation to other teams, Schuhmann adds, "For the Nets, the situation could be far worse."
Meanwhile, an ESPN roundtable mostly dismissed the Nets chances of getting Howard or any big-time free agent.
