One thing is for certain. The Nets will wait on everyone but the bigs, whether it's waiting to see if Otis Smith will entertain offers for Dwight Howard or waiting to hear if Nene or Tyson Chandler are serious about their interest in the Nets. A decision on Kris Humphries is also part of the mix.

After the Nets have their big, expect a rush for the remaining wings, particularly the small fowards. It seems like every day a new name is added to the mix. Culled from the beat writers' articles, blogs and tweets, here's a list of players whose agents have reportedly been called: Tayshaun Prince, Caron Butler, Shane Battier, Andrei Kirilenko, Josh Howard, Rasual Butler, Arron Afflalo, Grant Hill, Boki Nachbar, Josh McRoberts, Luc Mbah a Moute, Shawne Williams and Jamal Crawford.

Meanwhile, Deron Williams is getting his team physical Sunday, Anthony Morrow is working out at the Bobcats facility and celebrating his mother's birthday. MarShon Brooks (and D-Will) found houses, Damion James is shipping stuff to New Jersey, Jordan Williams says he'll be in New Jersey Monday, Jordan Farmar and Sundiata Gaines are flying back from Europe and Johan Petro just keeps working out alone. Brook Lopez doesn't announce his plans. Both Travis Outlaw's Twitter and official website are down.

The site seems to be thriving again—and even though we’re all nervous about what’s happening this week at least the posts aren’t “Progress made” or “Talks break down.”

Doubt he commands a lot of money

He’s strictly a defensive player, you’ll get no offense from him. I don’t think the Bucks see him as a NEED piece

by muwu on Dec 4, 2011 9:43 AM EST up reply actions

front loading

as of now (still waiting on final negotiations on B issues), the Nets can front-load his deal"

—give him a signing bonus of 17.5% of the total contract amount. Say he’s getting $15 million over four. Add $2.6 million upfront.

—agree to give him his entire first year salary upfront. So say it’s 4.5 million in first year.

That means Milwaukee will have to come up $7 million in three days…cash.

And back in March, Charlier said the Nets expect to do just that with RFAs.

Alternative is you call Milwaukee and say will be sending you an offer sheet. You want to make a deal. In the past, that was a wise move, because teams making the offer had to tie up that money for a week while they waited. Now it’s three days. Less of a big deal. (and once you submit an offer sheet, it can only be withdrawn with the agreement of all three parties…the free agent and both teams.)

"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.

so qualifying offers...

have to match the first year of the other offers? not the contract worth over the contract length?

by Chakroot on Dec 4, 2011 10:00 AM EST up reply actions

no, the only contract

but if you want to scare the other team, you front load the deal so they will have to make a big CASH outlay within three days.

Thats what Kiki did with KMart. He told Thorn he was going to send him an offer sheet with all that plus a trade bonus of 12.5% to make it as onerous as possible, knowing the Nets were cash-short, just months after Ratner bought the team. If the Nets had agreed to match the seven year, $92.5 million deal, they would have also had to give him something like $24 million upfront, within seven days.

Really think AK is the way to go at the 3

you won’t find any FA SF who is more complete than him.

Not only is he a very good defender (and a versatile one) he also can do a lot of things on offense. We need more guys whom you give the ball an will do something with it. Guys like Mbah a Moute ain’t gonna cut it.

by Andres B on Dec 4, 2011 9:45 AM EST reply actions

Really? I considered Mbah a Moute, but only if we had Nene, and if we had someone like Kirilenko to start. He’d be a great player off the bench. Keep in mind he’s restricted so we most likely can offer picks and Petro to get him since Bucks are lacking in big men.

by Nets 12-70 on Dec 4, 2011 9:49 AM EST up reply actions

Yea, I’m really seeing our team going in the defensive category. Lopez, and Morrow being the main weak points. But if you can surround them with those two, or Battier, and another defensive minded back up center preferably Nazr Mohammed if we can get him on the cheap. Also adding Anthony Parker for his well roundedness, we’re looking at a really competitive team.

they will wait until they have signed all their free agnets

to preserve cap space. While Brooks rookie salary scale, of $954,000, is already on the cap, J-Will’s is not and won’t be till he signs. Also, first rounders traditionally get $200,000 bonus on signing…but not before. So if you’re trying to preserve every dollar, you wait to sign him and give him that extra $200,000.

Boog I saw the article

and I said this two days ago. If dwight doesn’t want to come to the nets he could tell Otis what he wants to hear.

He wants to stay because the Lakers will always be in play similar to the Knicks and Melo. The Lakers main pieces of their package will be the same thing it is on december 9 what it will be in March. The Nets offer won’t be. This also gives Dwight a chance to say he tried to work things out. Again if this was the Lakers offering this deal and it had a time line we know the outcome would be different.

No problem The Nets will move on to Nene. Houston is no longer in play. Golden State could offer Nene money but max??? I only see the Nets being that desperate right now

My lil man.....can't tell me god don't exist.

hahahahah thanks but no

Neither one of these were rocket science people just thought because the Lakers were an aging team would diminish the allure they have. It’s still the Lakers and a point that has been brought up they have proven they can build championship teams around two different stars in the last teen years. It’s not just about winning Dwight wants everything.

Melo wanted the Knicks. The Nets can still build a good team they will have to be creative is all. Billy has to do his job. I don’t like the Nene for max but I understand why

My lil man.....can't tell me god don't exist.

by killa kadafi191 on Dec 4, 2011 10:11 AM EST up reply actions

I see your point

I look at the situation from an outsider not as a net fan. Would I love Dwight to be on this team?? Hell yea but if it’s between the Nets and Lakers then the Lakers have the advantage. Again the Lakers have proven they can build a winner with either Bryant or Shaq. They have a history of winning. The Nets are trying to show they can have success in the Post Kidd Era. Honestly when you are Howard of course the Lakers looks more appealing.

Some call it pessimistic because I don’t give an advantage to the Nets. I never said it was impossible but unlikely yes. One thing I commend King on being done with this Dwight stuff early. Let the Lakers deal with it.

After being swept, a new coach, and the rumors of locker room drama. The Dwight rumors will only add to distractions till he is traded there. The last thing this team and Brook needs is distractions

My lil man.....can't tell me god don't exist.

2.1 billion with Time Warner right?

if Dwight goes to LA, he will carry Kobe and Gasol and free agents will be lining up for the MLE and Vets min to go there. I mean Dwights best teammates were Rashard Lewis, Hedo, J-Rich, and Grant Hill.

The lakers would be even scarier. Kobe is lying through his teeth saying he’s loyal for Odom and Bynum.

At the All Star game in February, Howard said he wanted Kobe Bryant on his team more than anybody else. This Summer he described his ideal team as Paul/Williams/Ellis/Morrow/Jackson.

I think he is setting himself up for either situation but that he prefers LA because of the warm weather and the proximity to Hollywood (which someone here said was a preference for Dwight.)

by mytoemytoe on Dec 4, 2011 10:12 AM EST reply actions

I am not one who believes that Howard is coming here. He has LA on his mind. I am also not one that thinks CPaul is giving up millions to play in NY. So, what’s the Nets to do? We need another star for DWill – what trade is out there that would make him stay? Yes, Nene helps but it will eat up cap space. I see us pursuing the next level of stars on the wings via trade: Igoudala, Granger, etc.

The Nets should target Afflalo

as was reported/rumored some days back. After signing Nene and assuming Howard goes to the Lakers, hopefully we could create cap space by amnesty-ing Outlaw and possibly dumping Farmar for nothing.

An overall solid SG who can defend, finish shots, run the break and isn’t ball-dominant. Very efficient 50% FG and his 3-point percentage was the same as Morrow’s and he made around as many 3s. Good to go now but still young. I’m thinking he could make an RJ kind of impact.

As he’s an RFA, I’d be willing to consider Crawford kind of money for him instead of trying for Crawford.

And then get AK for the mini-MLE. That’s it.

Nene wants to win

Maybe they can talk him into lowering his asking price a decent amount by selling him on the idea of playing with the best point guard in the league (Arguably.) and the very real possibility of adding Dwight Howard to the mix and competing for championships the next several years. Or he can insist on a max deal and hope Indiana, GS, or Houston gives in and overpays for him and he can hope to sneak into the playoffs every year if he’s lucky. The Nets seem like the obvious choice on his list of suitors when you consider their bright future and the fact that he’ll get a nice contract too.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/216983/Paul_Open_To_Trade_To_Magic_Clippers

While Chris Paul’s first choice may be the Knicks, sources say he is also open to being traded to the Magic and Clippers.

Paul can opt out of his contract after the coming season to become a free agent and the Hornets are considering trading him to help in their rebuilding process.

I think it's fine.

unless Howard is going to New Orleans...

I don’t see how he’s dealt to Orlando. They have absolutely nothing to offer.

I love the Nets...too bad they don't love me...

The Clippers? But … I thought … didn’t we … I just … I mean I guess … heh.

by Dopeness on Dec 4, 2011 10:49 AM EST up reply actions

But we've heard from Alex Kennedy that Dwight has no interest in the Clippers.

Of course, if Paul is traded there, I am sure he would reconsider.

I think it's fine.

by NetsMets4Life on Dec 4, 2011 11:03 AM EST up reply actions

Exactly.

By the way, I’m starting to think that Dwight Howard wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure of playing in a New York market. He seems very thin-skinned. It’s a legitimate issue.

by Dopeness on Dec 4, 2011 11:05 AM EST up reply actions

It certainly is notable that other stars have had little issue voicing their stances.

He has yet to do so, and it is likely because he is very worried about his image.

But then again, LA market is not all that different. I think if went to the Clippers or Nets, he would not feel the immediate pressure from either fan base to win a championship right away.

I think it's fine.

by NetsMets4Life on Dec 4, 2011 11:08 AM EST up reply actions

As compared to Lakers, of course.

I doubt that

I seen New York people say the same thing when Lebron spurn them. Thing is he wants LA and New York if it’s the Nets or Knicks is not more appealing to Dwight than the Lakeshow

same here but I'm saying

I can see how you can say Dwight is thin skin.

The comments he makes on twitter, the confrontation with Bucher and etc etc etc. I just feel he never wanted New York. Bucher broke the story two years ago that Dwight wanted the Lakers. I think this has always been his plan. I see him going to clippers if they get Paul first but if they don’t I don’t see him joining the “other” LA team

Yeah

I heard that before from like Woj or someone who said to not rule it out. But how the hell do they get both players? They barely have enough to just get one!

by i says on Dec 4, 2011 11:07 AM EST up reply actions

Um?

I think you should check out the Clippers’ assets again. They certainly have enough for both.

by Dopeness on Dec 4, 2011 11:08 AM EST up reply actions

Um? Then why don't you consider this?

Howard has other options. So does Chris Paul. It’s no mystery Dwight is interested in the Lakers and possibly Brooklyn. CP3 could easily demand only the Knicks and that’s that.

If the Clippers trade all their assets to New Orleans, then why would Orlando want to take leftovers from LA when they can get a better package from Brooklyn?

Tell me how that makes any sense at all. You can’t speculate about the options a team like the Clippers have unless you know more about what Dwight and Chris Paul want. I keep trying to say this but people keep coming up with teams that have trade assets. At this point, that literally means NOTHING.

by i says on Dec 4, 2011 11:34 AM EST up reply actions

Not sure what any of that has to do with anything.

All I’m saying is that the Clippers have enough assets to formulate two (distinctive) trades for Dwight Howard and Chris Paul.

by Dopeness on Dec 4, 2011 11:42 AM EST up reply actions

How?

You do realize the new CBA has not changed anything right? Players can still decide where they want to go and if NO or Orlando is told by their stars they prefer multiple destinations, then it’s up to their teams where they end up.

If you’re going to make these dream scenarios then at least consider everything. You’re ignoring half of the story to make your original predication seem possible

by i says on Dec 4, 2011 12:15 PM EST up reply actions

On Billy King …

I know we talked about how in “Rod we trusted” but … I think that was mostly wishful trusting as he just seemed old and out of touch, maybe a little too passive. Of course, we haven’t a clue as to how hard he was working the phones but Billy King just feels more driven, hard working, on top of things. I’m glad he’s our GM at this particular moment. Hopefully, he’ll back up that sentiment with some good work and build us a team! You go Billy!

Rod was handicapped

by a GM that forced him to strip his team down. Rod built the majority of the assets King has had to use. Until proven otherwise Rod trumps King as a gm. NO way the Melo situation gets as ugly as it did last yr with Rod running the show.

yes, but

Thorn and Stefanski’s draft record was HORRID.

From the second round in 2002 to the first round in 2008, every single one a bust. None in the league. Planinic, Slay, Drejer, Wright, Ilic, MWilliams, Boone, Sean Williams. No undrafted players make it either.

King has a talent for finding talent late, whether its buying a second round pick in 2003 from Thorn to take Korver or signing Raja Bell after he wasn’t drafted or taking Louis Williams in the late second round.

his only problem is Philly was:
1) some bad long term deals
2) built (or was forced to) his team around a superstar

that said, he is a brilliant talent evaluator
and I think he is intelligent enough to have learned his lessons. He will bild around Deron. but Deron is also easier to build around than AI

I like us getting Nene at 15 but will not mind if it is 17

One reason an uninsured Amare made a lot of difference to Knicks and signing Nene will do the same for us, and he is going to be insured. Long term we need that influence on FA’s.

We still have pieces to get a player like J Smoove or someone like him. Knicks dont have pieces but we will still have D James, Bogs, 2 picks, Farmar, Graham MVP & Petro.

I know Petro is a filler but you do need fillers as well that any team can re-use as a filler.

Also note we can let go hump and Amnesty TO so we can actually give cap releief as well to a team like Atlanta of nearly 10 -12 mil. So we dont really need to lose the farm

may be D James or farmar + Capsapce + pick can get us J Smoove.

Things will change quickly once we put the product on floor and play some real games.

Quality point guards have a way of making good players into great players

Web this team can run a successful, fluid offense, it will lead to less bad shots and long threes late in the shot clock. This will in turn lead to more offensive rebounds, less long rebounds and fast breaks (against the nets). This will lead to more half court defense, more control over the pace of the game, and essentially more opportunities to perform well on defense

what?

Mike Miller is a very complete player, he’s much more than just a shooter. he can play any perimeter position, he can help bring the ball up, he’s a good passer and an excellent rebound, also a much better defender than Morrow.

You’re seriously underrating Miller’s all around game here.

perfect? he's behind the 2 best wings in the league

he can be the playmaker with LeBron and Wade on the same team. But he’s showed over the years that he’s pretty solid at creating for others. And despite the presence of those 2 he still was one of the best rebounding 2 guard in the whole league.

if he was that good he should have played SG to wade's PG

why is he getting amnestied? both lbj and wade can drive and kick out, which they did many times to miller but he was ineffective. and he’s defintely slow on D (at least in the finals). maybe he was hurt

Farmar Trades

Rudy Gay

25 million minus 17 for Nene brings the nets to 8 Million under the cap. That means that we can adsorb $8 million in a trade. If we package Farmar, DJames, Grahm, Bogs, $3 million, and the 2 pics this season, I think we can land Rudy Gay.

Why do the Griz do this:

They are spending a lot of money on their team now. If they can get Gay off of the books and come away with 8 to 10 million (once they decline Grahms option) shaved off their annual payroll plus 2 decent draft picks a young serviceable SF, a top backup PG, and a nice piece stored in Europe for a season or 2, it is not a bad trade for them.

Same goes for the Hawks with Josh Smith. Assuming Smooth can guard 3s.

This would give the nets as good a starting 5 as anyone in the league. PLus they would then qualify for the new exception given to teams who go over the cap in the off season and use that money to try and sign AK47.

NI, is this something that is possible, or am I just being a delusional fan here?

LOL

If that’s the case they can keep the bust named Marvin Williams, and Josh Smith. Granted, the same thing can be said for Josh Smith as everyone had been saying about Nene, he’s never played with a good PG. Smith is an ideal role player, and only a team with good pieces would be able to acquire him. Hawks aren’t rebuilding, and there window for even competing is closing, so you would have to think that they would expect something back for equal value or even greater.

He’s a pure point, and one of the few players excited to come to Jersey so he could get out of the triangle. Phil wouldn’t have let him go if he needed him.

by Frigidevil on Dec 4, 2011 12:39 PM EST up reply actions

A lot of options

It really doesnt matter what we all want or think the Nets should sign or trade for. I think the only guarantee right now is Nene. All signs point to DWill wanting him, so Billy King is going to throw a huge contract at him to get him to sign. Other then Nene we have no clue who we will sign. its really just a waiting game.

Personally…. I want to see AK47 sign to be our starting SF. His defense stands out and is something the Nets need while facing Lebron, Melo and Paul Pierce in the East.

If we trade for Dwight our young talent will be depleted so i wouldnt mind a trade for OJ Mayo. We will still have Marshon but i would much rather have a starting SG which some NBA experience. Its very possible that Orlando will want Anthony Morrow to be included in the trade.

Deron/Farmar
Mayo/Brooks
AK47/James
Nene/Humphries/Wright
Dwight/Petro

But like i said it really doesnt matter because i think Billy King is going to be so aggressive this offseason that we are going to see signings/trades that no one could have predicted. Similar to how no one saw the Deron Williams trade going down.

As NI said earlier...
youre not paying based on past performance in an offense where he was surrounded by ball hogs. youre paying him based on what D-Will thinks they can do together

If deron is confident that he and Nene can get the job done, you have to do what it takes to get nene. The FO has already stated publicly that they are ready and willing to put pieces around dwill to build a competitive team. They can’t back off from this stance or deron is as good as gone.

NI— Question...

Let’s say the Nets amnesty Outlaw. That gives us, what, 25 million in space? If we sign Nene for let’s say 15m/yr, then we have 10 left, say we sign someone or make trade and that ends up taking the rest of the 10. Do we then get to use a MLE on top of that? So we could end up spending ~5m/y or someone else? Thanks!

by corky_romano4life on Dec 4, 2011 12:01 PM EST reply actions

Good question

The whole salary cap thing confuses me about the NBA. Its not as simple as the NFL. The Lakers team salary last year was 91mil…. I dont understand how thats possible… I get that you can go over the salary cap because its a soft cap but still, i dont get how teams can over that much and still sign players. If thats possible then the Nets should have no problem signing AK47,Nene,Chandler,Dwight,Prince and every and all FAs they want lol. Im over exagerating here, obviously we wouldnt sign ALL of them…. but i hope you get what im saying.

my understanding of CBA...

Nets can NOT use MLE this offseason because they are currently under the cap. I believe once they reach the cap…they will be allowed to use a mini exemption to go over the cap by a few mil, but not the MLE.

by BKNfastbreak on Dec 4, 2011 12:31 PM EST up reply actions

i dont think thats right

they can use the MLE and the LLE ($1.9M) if they are between the cap and the luxury tax threshold, which is $70 million. If they are near the tax threshold and the MLE would put them over, then they get the Mini-MLE.

it would be useful to have the CBA summary linked on the left side of Netsdaily. I’ve read it, but still need to be refreshed.

by BKNfastbreak on Dec 4, 2011 12:52 PM EST up reply actions

I assumed that Nets are a ROOM team...

Mid-Level Exception for Room Teams: A new Exception is
available for teams that use Room under the Salary Cap (and
therefore forfeit their Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level and Bi-Annual
Exceptions). The exception allows a team using Room to
thereafter sign one or more free agents to a contract with a total
first year salary up to $2.5M and up to 2 years in length. Exception
amount to grow 3% annually.

by BKNfastbreak on Dec 4, 2011 12:58 PM EST up reply actions

youre not a room team

till you go right up to the luxury tax threshold and want to sign someone. The Mini-MLE then becomes available.

Nets are currently $16 million UNDER the cap and $28 million UNDER the tax threshold. Amnesty Outlaw and they’re $23 million under cap and $45 million under threshold.

"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.

by Net Income on Dec 4, 2011 1:16 PM EST up reply actions

so if I'm understanding this correct...

Nets could use up their cap room on FAs or trades. THEN use the MLE starting at $5 mil? And also use the LLE this offseason if they choose?

by BKNfastbreak on Dec 4, 2011 1:40 PM EST up reply actions

Incorrect

The Nets renounce/forfeit all exceptions in order to use cap room. There are cap holds for exception values. They are a cap room team, meaning we can spend up to the cap & then use the 2 year, $2.5mil exception granted to under the cap teams.

by TheNetsFan on Dec 5, 2011 1:07 PM EST up reply actions

But why does that matter

If the lakers can spend 91 mil a year why cant we? Can anyone explain how the NBA cap works? How are teams able to over spend so much but we are so set on staying within the cap and worried we wont have enough cap to get several top FAs.

by breaking20 on Dec 4, 2011 12:07 PM EST up reply actions

Players get raises

When Kobe signs a long term deal with almost $30mil per year in the final seasons, you can see how their payroll is almost $100mil

Cap Space is needed to sign free agents only

You don’t need for trades although it helps at times when you want to absorb another contract(Turkoglu)

That makes sense

So by trading for players we can go over the cap. So hypothetically, if we spend all of our free cap space in FA we can technically make the trade for Dwight enabling us to go over the Cap and have multiple larger contracts like the Lakers?

It isnt about that.

We would be eating into our cap to get him in a trade before Dec . 9, which wouldnt leave room for Nene. We cant match salaries with ATL.

by nets14 on Dec 4, 2011 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

previously posted proposals...

would assume that Atl would take SOME salary back. So let’s say Nets send Farmar ($4 mil.), plus 2 1st rounders, and let’s say Morrow or Brooks (to replace Crawford). The Nets would shed $5 to $8 mil in that deal.

Josh Smith makes $12.4 mil so the Nets start with about $23 mil after amnesty Outlaw. Plus the $5 to $8 mil sent to ATL. The Nets would still have $16-19 mil left to sign FAs.

I’m not saying ATL would take that trade, but if they want to shed salary, gain a young player to replace Crawford, and pick up two 1st rounders in a DEEP draft…this would be the way to go.

by BKNfastbreak on Dec 4, 2011 12:38 PM EST up reply actions

miscalculation...

Brooks does not currently count against the cap so it would be $4 to $8 mil sent to ATL in deal.

by drmagoo on Dec 4, 2011 12:12 PM EST up reply actions

I dont think anyone thinks he deserves max money

Hes asking for it but realistically what GM with cap to spend would be willing to offer him a max deal? He may get offers of 8,9,10,11,12mil…. all the nets have to do is offer him 12.5mil and outbid the others. I think Nene is looking to go wherever he gets the most money. Obviously money is more important to him right now then winning a title or he would be taking less money to play with Miami. The Nets can get him for under a max contract i think.

I am reading those reports

But why would the Nets offer him a max contract if other teams are offering him less then that? You dont think Billy King is going to be communicating with Nenes Agents and other GMs and figuring out what other teams are offering him? Maybe I'm delusional...

Didn’t nene say in an interview (contents of which were posted on this site) that it isn’t about the money, about how he has been wise with his finances and that he could retire now because he was smart with his money? Maybe because of this, he will accept a more realistic deal which will permit the Nets (or whichever team he signs with) to have more flexibility in making the team better, aka winning, aka what he wants.

The Nets can absorb salary and have three 1st rounders available to be traded (2012, Hous 2012, and 2014).

Morrow, Farmar, and Brooks are considered assets too. They aren’t good enough to get a top player in themselves but pair them with multiple first rounders and the ability to clear a bunch of space and maybe someone bites.

Blueprint for Potential Greatness:

Assuming I may make a few mistakes with #s and rules, here’s a general idea for what I think needs to happen for us to be top 4 seed in east. Also assumes D12 trade doesn’t happen yet. Lastly, it’s assumed OutLOL is amnestied.

1– Sign Nene for $15/yr max but do not lose out because HOU offers 15.5 or 16
2– TRADE for a SF: Granger, Josh Smith, Andre Iguoadala. Use Farmar, Petro, not great picks, and Damion James if necessary. Morrow if they insist.
3– Use MLE to sign either a backup center (DeAndre Jordan) or a SF to make that situation better… basically use it on someone who can really help the team. I really like J. McRoberts.
4– Fill up roster with some good vets… maybe VC takes minimum, probably not. But someone will.

So:

Williams / Gains
Morrow / Brooks
Granger,Smith,Iguoadala / MLE
Nene / Williams /MLE
Lopez / vet

If for some reason D12 wants to come here, we’ll have plenty of assets.

Looks like Nene's our guy

after we max him out, we just have to get on our knees and pray that we don’t get done in like the Cavs.

Giving the max to Nene is insane esp with the new CBA

He’s not worth close to that money. Just so thats clear.

Put it this way

We will be maxing out a third option on this team.

just a quick thought

What if we got chandler and trade brook for jsmooth..Atlanta is dying to use al at the 4 spot

by brickznujerz on Dec 4, 2011 1:33 PM EST via mobile reply actions

By the way

Trading for Josh Smith would be an advantage in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. Smith and Howard are good friends.

It is also a disadvantage. Whatever you give for Smith is less assets to trade for Howard.

I think it's fine.
