I don't think I can wait 21 days until the NBA season starts. I've fired up my 360, and played NBA 2k12, started and played through franchise mode, anxiously and desperately waiting for the season to start. Thankfully, free agency begins only in a few days. This off-season may be more important than next years; setting a foundation of solid players to ultimately bring back Deron and trade for Dwight. There is 25 Million to spent, obviously considering we use Outlol's amnesty clause. Here we go:
- Sign Shane Battier, 1 YR 4 Mill.
Battier is a solid all around player. Sturdy on D, takes care of the ball on offense, and will provide a nice leadership role as he did with the young Memphis team a year ago. A steal in my mind, a nice fit with this team for a great price.
- Let Hump walk.
We need an upgrade at PF, Hump is just not going to cut it. And we can't waste 5 Mill just to have him in a backup role. We need to surround D-Will with more legitimate players so we can completely convince him to stay.
- Sign Nene, 5 Years, 15 Mill a year.
This is the key signing. I think the Nets might pay more than this since of the recent reports... The Nets are going to do everything in their power to get him. His stats might of not of been too great last year, but next to Deron he'll become the All-Star calibier player he is capable of being.
- Sign Josh McRoberts 2 Years, 3 Mill a year.
Another Big Man put into the rotation, making the Nets having one of the biggest front courts in the East. He's athletic, can shoot the ball and a solid rebounder. A Humpries type player for less.
Nets opening night roster:
SG: Anthony Morrow, MarShon Brooks
SF: Shane Battier, Damion James
PF: NeNe, Josh McRoberts, Jordan Williams
