Quick Thoughts Thru 3 Games
Before I even begin to talk about the team I just want to say that its only been 3 games of a 66 game season.
We knew the injury to Lopez would hurt the team but we didn't know how badly it would be. Boy is it bad! Brook was our go to guy a lot last season and he played that role well. We were always able to go to his post moves and dish the ball to him for the 15 foot jumper. The way in which we have started the last 3 games not generating offense could be solved by Lopez, but it can be solved right now by Williams and Morrow.
The main reason for our struggles has been scoring and it's because Deron Williams and Anthony Morrow just haven't found their stroke. These two guys need to find it or else this team will continue to struggle.
I like the way Humphries has played and if James can find a jumpshot he will be a nice player. However, the lack of communication on the boards has been dreadful. Guys running into each other jarring the ball loose causing the other team to recover their rebound generating a second chance. I see this problem going away once the guys start playing a few more games.
The last point I would like to make is about MarShon Brooks. I love the way that he plays the game and goes about himself. He has no fear and will leave it all out their on the floor. We saw him not back down from a Chandler dunk in the preseason, go one on one, and tonight he went up against Howard. Brooks will get better and better with more playing time.
I believe that this team will get better and start to win some games. We are playing hard and playing some good defense. Once Deron and Anthony start finding their stroke we will be just fine. I'm as mad as the next fan that we got blown out on Opening Night and lost by 16 tonight. BUT like I said at the beginning this is only the 3rd game of 66!

Marshon Brooks should start
the nets need another score specially since brook lopez went down.they have that guy with them whose starting in the bench, I am sold on Marshon Brooks and I know Avery doesn’t like to start rookie but he has proven that he should start..on the next Nets home game if the they didnt start brooks somebody should yell “start Marshone”.lol..
IMHO I agree with Avery not letting him start
I also agree (somewhat) with his decision to play him as late as he did.
Brooks has an ego. I think what Avery did by letting him sit for a while made him more anticipated, and eager to play. Which I think gave him better play. He is a bit selfish with the ball, but he is a rookie. He needs to learn what he can do, and what he cant. THATS why I dont want him to start. Would Marshon as we know him be better than Morrow right now? Yes. I dont think we will see that same play if he is a starter.

ok, i will go first...
wildly inconsistent scoring, wildly inconsistent assist to turnover ratio… ok u next
He has career averages of 9.2 assists and 17.2 points per game
He’s also regarded as one of the best point guards in the league, next to Chris Paul. I think he’s a “wildly” good point guard.

What do you want me to prove? That Deron Williams is a good player?
This right here is enough to prove that Deron Williams is a good player.
If you don’t think he is good, you must never have looked at a site like this. Enjoy.

You're looking at the smallest sample size there is! Its 3 games!
How about looking at the rest of his stats from his 7 year career. Thats definetly a bigger sample size than 3 games

So DWill sucks, ay? How come you were so happy when the Nets traded for him? Mysterious...
“THIS IS GREAT!!!!
I just saw the news. I take a break from checking the site for a day and look what happens. BK and Prok just earned a lot of credit in mine and everyone else’s eyes. I like DWill as a player even more then Melo. Only thing that stinks is that they wont be able to add a top draft pick. Wish…"

Then care to explain that quote from you that you wrote the day we got DWill?
by The Chair of Knowledge on Dec 30, 2011 12:48 AM EST up reply actions
I think I bought into the whole next j kidd bs....
Im not perfect. thats why im always open to be proved wrong.
One final question
What PGs, in your opinion, are better than DWill?
by The Chair of Knowledge on Dec 30, 2011 12:55 AM EST up reply actions
Boy oh boy do I wish I were a Nets fan back then
Those days looked like fun days to be a Nets fan
Too bad I could never experience that

Those days changed my life....
I didnt even watch sports before I caught an early season late night YES replay of a game the first season with kidd. I just skateboarded and went to punk rock shows. Now Im a diehard Mets, Giants and \nets fan with quite the sorts gambling addiction. It just proved its not about numbers. Kiddd would shoot 3-16 but still dominate a game.
I was more looking for which PGs do you think are better than DWill right now
You don’t still think Kidd is better than DWill, do you?

If no point guard in the league is better than Deron Williams...
and you still say that he isn’t that good, that would mean every point guard in the league isn’t good.

I think you're suffering from what I like to call Angry Nets fan syndrome. I get it all the time.
Or maybe its all those Johnny Walkers

The JW's have something to do with it...
but its also that dwill just isnt that great. He doesnt have the intangibles or the tangibles. So what is it that is so good about him. he needs to go back to the midwest.
What's so good about him?
Well for starters, he’s the only player in the entire world who can average 20 PPG and 10 APG in the NBA. That’s the only 1 person out of 7 billion. I feel pretty lucky to have him in my team.
by The Chair of Knowledge on Dec 30, 2011 12:51 AM EST up reply actions
Although he never actually averaged 20-10
He averaged so close to it that the difference is negligible. wow, i spelled that right the first time. He isnt a leader. A great PG makes superstars, the superstars dont make him.
He actually did average 20-10
20.1 PPG and 10.3 APG
by The Chair of Knowledge on Dec 30, 2011 12:59 AM EST up reply actions
The espn page you linked to doesnt provide those stats....
Rapheal Palmero hit 5000 homers as well but he is still just average.
Make that 2 out of 7 billion
I’ll add CP3 to that list of 1

We're not arguing. We're having a discussion about our disagreements. There's nothing bad.
Is this talking between 2 Nets fans not allowed?

Hey Benl1
Do me a favor and ease up on the attitude there.
Thanks :)

Dwill
Has two bad games and all the sudden he sucks?
I grabbed 19 rebounds in my first professional game, and somehow found a way to score 20 points. I felt real good about it. I felt that this was the beginning of something good.
-Julius Erving
Yep
Its a sad thing. But I think theyre just in the moment of being angry and blame it on DWill. i think theyll get over it soon.
