The Nets announced Friday afternoon that they have signed guard DeShawn Stevenson. The deal is reportedly for one year and the team's $2.5 million "room" exception, putting the team over the salary cap.
"DeShawn is a veteran NBA player who brings a championship pedigree to our roster," Billy King said in the Nets' statement announcing the deal. "He is a tough defender who can stretch the floor, and will bolster our backcourt rotation."
Stevenson is 30 years old and entering his 12th NBA season. Including the playoffs, he started 72 games for the Mavs last year.
