Is It Time to Consider Moving Deron Williams?

Obviously the news regarding the Lopez injury was devestating on a number of levels - team can't compete w/o him, can't get a better feel on how he may gel w/Williams and most importantly, can't showcase a healthy Lopez to Orlando now.

The timing couldn't have been worse. Lopez's health and durability coupled w/his scoring ability put him on par if not ahead of Bynum. I think the Lakers are now the clear-cut favorite to land Howard. They won't stand for playing second-fiddle to the Clips for long and this would get the Forum buzzing about D12 and Kobe more than Blake and Paul.

Given the amazing haul New Orleans got for Paul, I think the Nets have to at least consider what they may fetch for Williams. Personally, I'd rather have Gordon, Kaman, the kid from Wake Forrest and the T'Wolves unprotected 1st-rounder than hang on to the hope that the Nets can convince Williams to stay.

I know BK has been pretty steadfast in his intent on building around Williams and presumably Howard. But that seems like pie-in-the-sky thinking to me. What if the Nets whiff on Howard? Do you think there's any chance Williams stays? I don't. So why not at least put some feelers out there to see what you may get for him now?

What say you, Net's Nation? Do we continue to drink the D12 cool-aid, or do we start actively pursuing yet another rebuild here by seeing what we can get for Williams?
