The Nets have agreed to sign Kris Humphries to a one-year deal worth nearly $8 million, according to reports. The 6'9" power forward had a physical Tuesday and may be ready to play in Wednesday's final preseason game vs. the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Humphries would fill the Nets glaring need for a power forward. Shelden Williams, a journeyman who has played for seven teams in six years, manned the post Saturday.
Humphries, whose 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian provided grist for tabloids and gossip sites, had his best year with the Nets, averaging 10.0 points and 10.4 rebounds, finishing fifth in the Most Improved Player balloting.
