The Best Players Lopez has Played with the Last Two Years
From reading posts here and elsewhere, I'm shocked that the 12 win and 24 win argument is used against a player who was 21 and 22 years old during those campaigns. More shocking is looking at the list of players Lopez has played with these last two season.
Taking a look at the bunch:
D.Williams (for 12 games during which he was injured)
Devin Harris
Kris Humphries
Anthony Morrow
Courtney Lee
Terrance Williams
Jordan Farmar
Damion James
Josh Boone
Sean Williams
Yi
Eduardo Najera
CDR
Keyon Dooling
Sundiata Gaines
Mario West
Brandon Wright
Johan Petro
Stephen Graham
Dan Gadzuric
Jarvis Hayes
Quentin Ross
Ben Uzoh
Rafer Alston
Bobby Simmons
Trenton Hassell
Tony Battie
Chris Quinn
Many of those players aren't even in the NBA anymore. I would not expect a 21 or 22 year old player to be able to do much with a supporting cast like that. He's played with exactly two full time starting quality players the past 2 years, Deron Williams (for 12 games with a bum wrist) and Devin Harris. Anthony Morrow is a borderline starter and Kris Humphries was perhaps a contract year fluke and had never been a starter previously.
There has not been a team with less talent the last two years than NJ.

Don't forget
Harris would sit out every other game…
How bout VC?
That millisecond you're sure you're going to die when you lean back in your chair a little too far.
Nets Gm should receive this thread
It’s an embarrassment to have such riches, lol

Of that list – Harris and Williams basically cancel each other out – as they were not on the team at the same time. I would say it’s fair to say that both Hump and Morrow are starting caliber players.
You also missed listing Derrick Favors and Travis Outlaw. Favors was super raw and Outlaw….well you all know about Outlaw….
Actually, I think Brook Lopez doesn’t get the credit that he deserves and should be respected by everyone for not DEMANDING a trade at the start of last season. I am not sure there is an NBA caliber big man of his ilk who has played with a bigger group of scrubs for the majority of their career – and still put up numbers while the D can clearly game plan to focus specifically on stopping you.
And I will say this until I am blue in the face – I would much prefer to see the Nets put off making a move for Dwight Howard until the summer – so that they can pair DWill and Brook Lopez with Howard. That is a Big 3 that will win championships…DWill and Dwight plus scrubs is not going to be an NBA Finals team.
