The loss of its three top players to Nets training camp is finally having an effect on the Springfield Armor. They lost Sunday night for the third straight time to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in Indiana by a score of 101-84. The loss knocked the Armor out of first place in the D-League East. The Armor had also lost to the Tulsa 66ers on Saturday.
Lance Hurdle, a 6'2" guard out of Miami, scored 24 to lead the Armor. He's averaging 22 ppg since Dennis Horner, Jerry Smith and JamesOn Curry left of East Rutherford a week ago. In Sunday's preseason game vs. the Knicks, the three combined for seven points. The Fort Wayne game was the first in a .a 16-day, seven-game, five-city, 4,600-mile road trip that includes a seven-hour bus trip across the snowy Dakotas...on Christmas Eve.
