In an interview conducted before Billy King and Deron WIlliams sang his praises in New Jersey, Andrei Kirilenko told a Russian sports writer that he wasn't sure he'll leave Russia and CSKA Moscow. AK-47 is recovering from a serious fall during a game last week.
Kirilenko said if he does return to the NBA, he hoped to land with a team that "should either be a contender or a promising team that is able to contend in near future and is not an outsider... aspirations will be the defining factor". He did not mention either the Nets or the Kings, also reported to be pursuing the combo forward. The Jazz, who had interest in bringing Kirilenko back, instead opted for Josh Howard.
