Despite Williams Effort, Armor Lose
The Nets now have four Williams on the roster, a 1, a 3, a 4, and a 5. All they need is a 2, a shooting guard, to make it a full team. Well, with three of his teammates playing at the PNY Center, Armor shooting guard L.D. Williams has been filling in back in Springfield.
L.D. Williams scored a career high 33 points in an overtime loss to the Erie Bayhawks, shooting 10-for-19 from the floor and 12-for-18 from the line. Williams, a 6'4" leaper and defending D-League slam dunk champion, also had 10 rebounds but he missed two crucial free throws with the 5.8 seconds left in regulation. The Armor rank first in D-League power rankings and are tied for the top position in the league's Eastern Conference.

D-League question
Can other teams call up players from D-League teams they don’t own or are affiliated with?
If this is the case, what is the point in owning a D-League team or being affiliated with one?
From what i gather teams can call up any D-Leaguer… is this true?
yes
the value in owning (or in the Nets case running) a D-League team is to have it serve as a development tool. Bob MacKinnon, the Armor coach, and his assistant, Chris Carrawell, are Nets employees, run the same system as Avery Johnson does, same training regimens, with the same plays, same jargon (which I am told is much more important than we think), same tools, like IPad apps, etc. So being able to move players up and down becomes easier. The real value is when Nets rookies, like Jordan Williams, get sent down. There will be constant communications between East Rutherford and Springfield.

the player still needs to agree to play for them
but most likely, they won’t pass up any opportunity to play in the big league.
I still believe we can do IT !
Let's make NBA history … probably sports history
and for at least 1 minute sometime this season put all 5 Williams on the court. Maybe in garbage time. Bret Yormark might like that for publicity.
OK, can we make a consensus in here to call the Williamses by first or nick names?
:)

Only count 3
Just clicked on the “Nets roster” link on the Nets Daily homepage and it showed only three Williamses – Deron, Jordan and Shelden. Who is the 4th?
