The Nets have added another free agent, and it's another Williams. Shawne Williams has chosen to sign with New Jersey, rather than returning to the Knicks.

For Williams, it's actually a return to the Nets. Dallas traded Eduardo Najera for Kris Humphries and Williams in 2009, but the Nets cut him in 72 hours.

Howard Beck tweets that Williams signed for $6.1 million over two, $2 million more than the Knicks were offering. The second year is reportedly a player option. The Knicks were offering a team option in the second year. Williams was reportedly upset that they put Jamal Crawford ahead of him on their wish list.

Shawne Williams signing brings to four the number of Williams on the Nets roster, joining former Knick teammate Shelden, Jordan and of course, Deron Williams.

Adrian Wojnarowski tweets that the Nets are now "trying to close deal with free agent Andrei Kirilenko."
