Avery Johnson says that when he was hired to run a team that had been 12-70, he knew things weren't going to change overnight. "When I took this job I talked a lot about process. This is a process," explains the coach.
And so he is willing to wait. Not a problem. He is "absolutely okay" with a season where the Nets are still in mix for Dwight Howard or other big free agents come March. He also understands the team still has holes and knows it may take time to fill them.
"As a staff we’re going to work hard. The players we have in uniform, they are giving us the best that they have," Johnson said after practice Wednesday. "If it’s good enough or not, who knows?
