PrintIt was less than a week ago that Matt Barnes told reporters that Dwight Howard assured him that the Lakers were the perennial All-Star's top choice...along with Baron Davis. "I've talked to both of those guys and they wanna be here," he told ESPN.
He was less "aggressive", as the Los Angeles Times put it, yesterday. "There’s teams pulling at him every way. We have real talks more than anything about being a Laker. He has to do what's best for him and his family and what makes him happy," said Howard's former teammate. "It's not about what we want or the Lakers want or what I want. It's about what's best for him and his family."

either way..this crap just needs to end.
Just catching up to the latest news.
I think as fans, we should let Billy King know that we won’t be disappointed in him if we get Nene (for 64 million) and other decent FA’s left (AK, Hump, etc).
I don’t want BK to believe he HAS to get DH12 and in the process loses out on Nene.
Then Nets would be screwed and we lose DWill too!
I haven't posted, in part (besides making up lost sleep and work) because I realize that ORL is going to take its time and may not even trade Dwight until the trade deadline.
I fear Nets getting nothing and losing DWill in the process.
It is quite possible that a team with Lopez, Nene, Hump and (AK47 or RJ) would be better than a team with Howard+Turk+Arenas without Morrow,Farmar,DJames, etc.
We would get less media attention, but could easily be a #3 or 4 seed this season, either way.

If ORL doen't want to trade Howard at a deep discount (compare with what CP3 was offered)... at least we would still have possibility of post All Star trade for Howard.
Does anyone know if 90 day waiting period after signing FA. Makes no sense unless we can be guaranteed that the Trade Deadline has been moved until Late March.
It makes no sense if 90 day period is AFTER the new Trade Deadline.
Billy King has to know the answer before knowing the best strategy.
