The Nets-Jazz connection
In a way, the Utah Jazz are sort of like the Brooklyn Nets benefactor, and they are my new 'other' team.
The Utah Jazz feel like they fleeced the Nets pretty good in the Deron Williams trade. In a way, they did. The Jazz are a small market team and small market teams have to build through the draft to survive, or continue on with Deron Williams and no help. They now have Alec Burks, Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter, along with Devin Harris and the rest of the team's vets (Okur/Jefferson/Miles among others), and they'll be joined most likely by a high lottery pick in 2012's stacked draft. The Utah Jazz fans have always stuck by their team and they will patiently wait for a young group to get better.
The Nets bet it all on Deron Williams- it was a move that we all agreed they had to do, to create excitement for the re-launch of NETS basketball.
So I'm hoping things work out for both the Nets and the Jazz this year.
Devin Harris made some pretty crazy shots in his time as a Net and I won't forget those soon- he's not a terrible player but he couldn't carry the team on his back here in Jersey. Favors vs. Cousins was a huge debate around NetsDaily so I'll probably always compare the two throughout their careers. Enes Kanter is going to be a big time player. (I haven't seen Burks, no idea what to expect). I think they made a good decision for their franchise and they helped out the Nets in the process. Go Jazz!

Nice post
I’m from Jersey and was going to Nets games since I was a kid in the early 90’s, I joined the military and got stationed here in Utah so I’ve been to every Nets/Jazz game here except the one where Vince sunk a 3 at the buzzer to win it because I was in Iraq. I enjoy The Jazz and have loved watching Deron. Funny thing was, last season they killed us here in SLC and after the game I was being heckled by Jazz fans because I was wearing a red Favors jersey. I got into it with a few guys with D-Will jerseys because they said Favors sucked, so I said once his contract is up Deron will be playing for us. They didnt like that. I wish I could’ve seen them when that trade went down haha.
