Sundiata Gaines had a Deron Williams-like game Tuesday, scoring 24 points and hitting five three pointers as B.C. Armia of Georgia beat Gottingen of Germany in the first game of the EuroChallenge competition. Playing at the other end of the Black Sea from Istanbul, Gaines also handed out four assists and grabbed four rebounds.
Gaines, who will face off against D-Will next week, shot 5-for-7 from deep. Williams plays Wednesday in Besiktas' EuroChallenge debut. The Nets three point guards have now won 23 of 25 games overseas. Said Gottingen's coach, "They made some tough shots, especially Gaines and (Jeremy) Richardson."
