No one knows more about Josh Howard than Avery Johnson. Howard, a late first round pick out of Wake Forest, made it with the Mavericks, based in large part on Johnson's confidence in him. He became an All-Star and a 20 ppg scorer under Johnson. Then, there were controversies, a trade and a torn ACL.
Now tweets Chris Broussard, the Nets are one at least three teams interested in resurrecting his career, the others being the Bulls and the Wizards, for whom he last played. Howard, now 31, has had a tough time recovering from the ACL and is unlikely to command much of a contract.
