Morrow, James Keep Up Benefit Play

There aren't any boxscores to share, but both Anthony Morrow and Damion James competed this weekend in benefit games. Morrow played in the Louis Williams Charity Pro-Am at Atlanta Metro College while James played in the John Lucas Houston Lockout Celebrity Game at the University of Houston's Delmar Field House.

Morrow, as he has in several celebrity games, was among the top scorers. A Hawks fansite reported, "Anthony Morrow had the hot hand early as he hit shots from all over the gym for New ATL." He finished with 38 points. Williams hit for 40 and the game's biggest name, Allen Iverson, matched Morrow with 38. Dwight Howard coached Morrow's team.

No word on how much James scored in the Houston event, since no individual stats were kept. The 6'8" Texas native has been picking up his pick-up game schedule in recent weeks, being recruited by his old friend, Kevin Durant.

And, when your a knuckle head........your just a knuckle head.
An insider from the Golden Bulls reveals that the team was planning to waive Smith, who has been too demanding. According to Zhao Bing, the club had provided Smith with a presidential suite at a cost of 6,880 yuan per day, arranged a special chef and spent 700,000 yuan in insurance as he requested. However, he wanted another villa in Shanghai or Hangzhou with a chauffeured car to commute for training in Yiwu.

Smith also demanded a clause that allowed him no less than 3 vehicular homicides per month

Avery Johnson can go Outlaw himself.

"no fewer", I believe, is more correct.

Only in the U.S.

Use of MSG outside the States are rampant.
But it doesn’t mean they don’t hate the Knicks. LOL.

Let the "trade talks" begin !

Don't want to be a total jerk...

Just curious…

Sometimes it's called "allowance"

they’re not really paid as it’s suppose to be a charity, and their appearance is their contribution to the charity work.
But they do receive something. :)

I wonder how the Nets players voted in the last CBA offer

Ok, there’s no actual voting, but some players definitely reached out and let their opinions known to the team representative.
Also, from my understanding from the different reports that I read, the players were not unanimous in the decision. But they have to be united and back the decision of the executive commitee and union leadership.

I just feel sorry for the "little" people who are getting truly hurt by this lockout...

So sad, so sad…

NBA Lockout Hurting the Escort Service Industry;

We’ve all read the heartbreaking stories of all those people whose lives have been turned upside down by the NBA lockout — arena workers, team support staff, NBA media folk, etc. — but won’t anyone think of the escorts, for crying out loud? They’re people, too. CNBC knows that, and is on the case: "A 30 percent decline seems to be the magic number, even for Henry, who runs an escort service in New York that he says charges between $400 and $4,000 an hour, depending on the woman. Henry says he takes between 65 and 80 percent of the total cut to match the players and other high-profile fans, who are with the client an average of four hours. ‘There are replacements but they aren’t as consistent and not nearly as high paying,’ Henry said."
