D-Will Stars in Quake Relief Tourney
Top teams from Turkey and surrounding countries, among them the Besiktas Black Eagles, have been busy this week, playing in hastily arranged charity tournament for victims of the earthquake that devastated the city of Van near the Iranian border. And once again, Deron Williams has excelled.
Williams had 20 points, shooting better than 50% overall and from deep, and dished out six assists Tuesday night as Besiktas won its second straight game in the tournament and eighth straight overall, beating Banvit of Turkey, 95-87.
In a game Monday, Besiktas beat Astana of Kazakhstan with Williams playing only a few minutes.
