D-Will, Bogdanovic Both Score 16 in Tight Games; Besiktas Streak Ends
In separate games, Deron Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic both scored 16 points on two-point games, but D-Will's 12-game winning streak with Besiktas came to an end in a home game vs. Erdimir . Bogdanovic's Fenerbahce won in Izmir, keeping its Turkish League hopes alive.
D-Will was 6-for-16 overall but 2-for-7 from downtown and without his deep shooting, Besiktas had a hard time compensating. He handed out 8 assists. Bogdanovic wasn't much better, 4-for-14, also 2-for-7 on three's.
Meanwhile, reports circulated that Besikas' interest in top NBA players isn't limited to Kevin Love and Luol Deng. They may be targeting Nene, reportedly on the Nets' off-season list.

Nene going to Besikas would be too good to be true.

Vujacic interview:

talks mostly about lakers but he does say that he wasnt surprised by his trade.
i hate to be so negative but the nets are a bad team right now and Bogdanovic is not a good player
I believe Bogs is going to see some playing time in the NBA…but thats probably gonna be it for the guy…how many inconsistent 22 year old europeans have come over to the NBA and stayed here for awhile? actually, how many inconsistent 22 year old euro ball players even come over to the NBA?
I can think of one
taken late in the second round in 1999, then came over a few years later, name of Manu Ginobili.
Tell me, really, how much have you seen Bogdanovic play? Five minutes?

yeah but was he an inconsistent player over there?
I’ve seen every single video posted by you and other users on youtube of this guy…
read all of his stat lines this year…
i’ll give u that he drives the lane pretty hard..but i’ll hold my judgment until i see him do that against NBA players.
bottom line
what sports comes down to is consistency…a great example of this is Yi Jianlian.
I was a big fan of the kid when he first got here…but no consistency in his game….
I like Bogs’ tenacity driving the lane but thats about it….Manu is a special player
i meant i'll hold my judgment on his ability to drive the lane
i’ll also say that he seems to play with a lot of confidence over there and he seems comfortable on the court….but if he is this inconsistent while having all that…i can’t imagine him being a good player in the NBA
bottom line
you dont have enough knowledge to make these determinations.

It would have been great to see Manu on a team where he lead instead of being #3 lol

he is a first ballot hall of famer
three NBA championships, an Olympic gold medal, and a Euroleague championship.
Only one other player in basketnball history has done that, and he also played a similar, heady, team game…Bill Bradley.
Maybe the greatest late second round pick of all time.

I disagree
Apparently every well known player that wasn’t playing ball in USA until the NBA is a HOFer. ESPN had an article on it during the summer, and its ridiculous to see how many players there are that will enter the HOF eventually. Manu was like option #3 on a great team lead by arguably one of the best PF and coaches in the league.

If those are HOF numbers, there are alot of players that belong in the HOF as well.

Defense , winning , overseas success , and being an impact offensive player will all contribute to just the numbers. And his career numbers aren’t anything to sneeze at anyway.
28.1 minutes per
15.3 points (.449 FG% .834 FT%)
4.0 rebounds
3.9 assists
1.5 steals
He’s clearly talented enough to put up even bigger numbers in a different situation. Voters will likely take that into consideration.

Im not saying he is a bad player
because he clearly isn’t and he did his job well when he was with the Spurs. His averages are sub par, and his career totals are very low. But HOF? First ballot? Maybe in the year 2100. Duncan is a no brainer, David Robinson is already there, Parker is a question mark, along with Manu. Just my 2 cents though

Joe Dumars got in and his numbers didn't blow me away
His numbers -
16.1 points
2.2 rebounds
4.5 assists
.9 steals
Does that scream HOF? He also played with Hall of Famers and played for Chuck Daly.
There a lot more things beyond numbers that people will look to. That was my basic argument.
For Dumars it was defense and team success. For Manu it will be team success , defense , and international play.
I can’t say he’ll get in for sure , but he has a good shot.

I agree that its ALOT more than the numbers
But I don’t just see him being considered as a HOF player unless he gets in via the same way Yao will. There was an ESPN article on it during the summer, wish I could find it. I thought HOF players were suppose to be great and legendary players, once that have done things in there NBA careers that make them unique and special while having personal stats and team success. Maybe my definition is wrong.

well, the whole dumars thing kinda says its a repetition
that great team players get into the hall….
same goes with James Worthy..a very CONSISTENT player who played on great teams and won….
hence,
Net Income’s mentioning Manu and Bogdanovic in the argument is pretty funny
Nets Income is allowed to be a Homer like the rest of us lol
But for all I know, Boggy might be the next Mile Ilic who I have yet to see in the NBA or that other guy who’s last name started with a V. I don’t blame people for thinking highly with our players, but the disappointment does get tiresome.

i agree that Manu is a HOF player...i don't know about first ballot though
a great player. not a superstar…but he’ll def be in there
If NeNe joins D-will
Have to believe good chance he’s a Net unless we get D-howard, D-will seems to be a guy that talks to people on the low, not as braggadocios as some other players.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."

not a lot of opportunities
particularly if you require an NBA out

Maybe Proky pulled some strings to get him a very low paying position on a Russian team?
European teams can afford to be selective with the expected rush of players in the next couple of weeks.
For the Nets and Proky, it is worth the risk to get more experience for JWill.
Also, it would help BK to know what to expect from JWill if there is going to be a partial season.
