Jordan Williams Heads For Poland

Jordan Williams played Friday night in his native Connecticut. By Saturday night, his agent had tweeted Nets second round pick is headed for Poland, to play for Zastal, where he'll team with the Suns' Gani Lawal

Williams, who's been living at home with his family in Torrington, tweeted a confirmation, adding "Can't wait to finally hoop!!"

"It's a tough situation for (rookies)," Ryan Gomes, another participant at the Bridgeport benefit, told the Examiner. "Their dreams of becoming an NBA player and playing their first year out of college is on hold right now. But I think that's what you have your agents for. They might have to do some things as far as taking out loans because you're not getting paid right now."

He got horrible advice- should have stayed in school

he left early to be a 2nd round pick before the lockout???

One would think if he got in great shape.. he would be a 1st rounder, or at worst no worse off than he is now

Also have to take into consideration:

The next draft will be much deeper and could of dropped even further. He has a limited ceiling. He is what he is. ‘Could’ be a great rebounder/hustle (10//10) guy if he pans out.

dont disagree but

If he was mid 2nd as a pudgy sophomore, being in shape and playing as an experienced Junior would have helped him.

he had to have known 1st round was unlikely. If so, what was the point of leaving?

by orangeeater on Nov 19, 2011 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

he was leading rebounder in ACC, third in the nation

third team All-American on one list.

He would have been first rounder if he continued to show improvement. Of course, he only lost that weight in a pro training program.

The other guys have a point

picked 2nd round in a weak draft, might not get picked at all in a much better draft next season.

btw...this guy reminds me of Kris Humphries

but a Kris Humphries lite that went in the 2nd round instead of a lotto pick like the original..not even worth talking about

by netsball on Nov 19, 2011 4:14 PM EST up reply actions

He could be a 10 and 10 guy why not?

Has soft hands and that Charles Barkley backside don’t think he’s as bad as people paint hi out to be.

8/8 or 9/9

Now you can breath.

Same difference

If he stays in shape will be decent to me, a lot of big men can’t catch it in traffic like Boone.

not a very good idea, hasnt signed contract yet

speaking before you think can have severe consequences, however doing it in reverse can have beautiful results!

Jordan had 6-8 points....All in the 3rd - 4th quarter........

He wasn’t playing competitively at all …..Everyone else was……He was just playing it like a charity game…. ….Didn’t want to hurt anyone….He has a very wide body and he is in pretty good shape , not fat at all….. He even had one of his shots blocked by Josh Selby who scored approximately 60 points…….He reminded me alot like Brandon Jennings…….Tyreke Evans was there….God I wish that we had him…..And I know that none of you guys want to here this but Iman shupert is going to be a Star….WOW….JUST WOW…..So smart , so quick , so sneaky, so strong and he can shoot……Of course Jordan scored his points while I was away from the game getting a bite to eat…..and drink……..Final Score……Connecticut…….171……..Washington…..169……….That’s not a typo…..High scoring …..Competitive game even without….John Wall…Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins…..All three were No Shows……..Oh , Did I mention that Hakeem Thabeet is really freakin tall……7’3" Trey Thompkins will also be a star Tall, smart and he can shoot the three with his eyes closed…He’s real smooth…..Travis Leslie is a very, very good player….After the game I met Jordan Williams, shook his hand, got his autograph and told him that all the Nets Fans love him and he should check out Nets Daily…Real smart kid……Tons of backboard, windmill dunks, etc…….Wes mathews is fantastic and baby shaq (And One guy) was there …….Burned someone real good with his amazing crossover….Not many people there….Maybe 1200…? Tons of seats open….Nice place…Safe…Easy in-out….The end of the game was like a playoff game…….Like 11 sec left……Ct down like 167-164…WA scores…Now 169-164……Then Ct hits a three….169-167……Then Ct with a steal and lay-up…169-169…..Then Ct with another steal….Time Out……1.6 sec remain……Ct has Tyreke in the backcourt…Everyone thinks he is getting the ball….But they throw it under the basket and in one motion a Ct player grabs the ball in the air and lays it in…..Game over…..WOW………I’ll try to answer questions for you guys if I can remember…….

by NetFan48 on Nov 19, 2011 7:36 PM EST reply actions

My mistake...Harper says that selby had 48...I saw that he had 48 but there was still quite some time left and i thought that he had a few more baskets.....

How can he say that the 1st 46 minutes was dull….? I mean look at the freakin score…..That’s by know means is a dull game and there was some tough “D” being played…….

another guy to cover

that will be five players we will cover overseas: D-Will, J-Will, Farmar, Gaines and Bogdanovic. However, if the season is canceled, we will stop covering Gaines since he will not be under contract with the Nets at the end of the season.

Jayz disses Melo and other players

"So all the athletes were clamoring to talk to Jay-Z in his private section, even Melo, but because of the lockout, Jay had to turn them all down. He refused to let any of them through, and also warned his security to watch out because of his NBA ownership, he wasn’t allowed to fraternize with them," said our source.

This was at the recent GQ party.

JWILL

He seems like a good kid and is hard working. I hope you plays somewhere soon, he needs the court time, in something organized.
