Casspi Joins Farmar in Israel, Deng and Love May Join D-Will in Turkey
Omri Casspi has signed with Jordan Farmar's Maccabi Tel Aviv team as it tries to keep pace with CSKA Moscow in the Euroleague. Casspi, traded to the Cavaliers on Draft Night, is an Israeli who played for Maccabi before joining the NBA two years ago.
Now comes word from Adrian Wojnarowski that Besiktas, which already has two NBA players, Deron Williams and Semih Erden, is in "serious talks" with Luol Deng and Kevin Love. The two would fill two voids on Besiktas which wants to win the Turkish League and thus get into the Euroleague next season.

NBA TV
Will air Euroleague game between France’s SLUC Nancy (w/Nicolas Batum) and Greece’s Olympiacos this Sunday at 2 p.m. Crowds in Europe alone make Euroleague worth watching.
Off-Topic......
Anyone besides my son and myself going to see Jordan Williams in Bridgeport,Connecticut tonight…..???

haven't seen this until now..Dwight talking about FA..basically saying he's out of Orlando
Although he stopped well short of saying he’s made a decision about his long-term future, Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard said Thursday he plans to take advantage of "every opportunity" when he’s eligible to become a free agent during the summer of 2012.
Howard has been reluctant to talk about his potential free agency, and his comments came only after he was posed a specific question about the subject.
"Well, that’s 2012," he said. "Everybody’s worrying about the wrong stuff. I didn’t come here today wanting to discuss where I’m going to be next year. At that point, it really doesn’t matter.
"The biggest thing for me is taking advantage of every opportunity that I have in front of me, and that’s how anybody should look at it. I’m 25 and I have a full life ahead of me, God-willing, and I have to do what’s best for me, and that’s it."
Kevin Love as well
SpearsNBAYahoo: Wolves @kevinlove tells @YahooSports he will be making a decision over “the next couple of days” on whether to sign with Turkey Besiktas.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
Wow, that would be a power team...
4 NBA players, 3 of which are NBA starters?

Yes, Kevin Love, not Deng, to team with DWill.
An upgrade on Kris Humpries.
They should do well together.
What is Bestikas trying to do ?
Become the Miami Heat ?
Who’s next to join their team…Howard ?
I don’t understand how that Turkish League can allow the competitive balance of the league to be destroyed by letting clubs like Bestikas rent NBA star players in order to win games…
I never understood owners, players and fans who get enjoyment from winning by stacking the deck totally in their favor. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel with a shotgun…
It would be like choosing up teams in your local playground and putting all the best kids on one team and the rest on the other…
The other Turkish teams had a chance to make big offers, but chose not to.
The owner of Besitkas can use his business to pay for it.
Sort of like the Proky of the NBA with no $ limitations.
I understand that...
but if I was a fan of Bestikas I wonder if I would enjoy watching all these rental NBA players on my team winning games but knowing deep down inside that it’s just a sham…
on the other hand
you are a fan of the Nets and won’t see any games. :-(
Which is better?

I might watch those Bestikas games but I wouldn't take them seriously...
It would be like watching the old Harlem Globetrotter games…Enjoyable but nothing to really take seriously…
Whatever happened to the concept of competitve balance ?
Now it’s all about acquiring a superstar ladened team virtually overnight…
I guess I’m just getting old and the times have past me by…Oh well…that does happen if you been around long enough…In fact tonight I’m drinking a glass of warm milk and will retire early and dream about the good old days…Goodnight guys…
Hopefully Deron recruits Love for 2012 just in case we don't think the Howard/Lopez combo would work

If Love teams with DWill, some Network would make $ to show all the Besitkas games on TV.
Starved NBA fans would watch – we like Super Teams.
I don't like watching superteams...
unless those teams are mostly home grown players…
I never enjoyed watching team USA beat the stuffing out of other teams in the Olympics when they loaded that team up with the greatest NBA stars. What’s the point ?
That is the major reason teams like the Miami Heat and NY Yankees are universally hated by many fans…
Brotha
were the same on this one. I like homegrown stars and would rather not trade for them but sometimes, what can you do? Jus gotta deal with it.
Nets Mets Giants ALL DAY
It's a tough call for me on this subject...
because I do think players should be able to become free agents.
But in the old days most players used to go to the team offering the most money but now money doesn’t seem to be that much of a factor anymore especially with the superstars in the NBA and the way the salaries are structured….In the old days every team in theory had a chance to get a star player if they were willing to shell out big bucks.
A liberal free agency policy seems to work in basball but for various reasons it doesn’t in basketball. Basketball has different dynamics involved. One or two superstars in baseball can’t gurantee a winning team but in the NBA one great player can change your team around overnight. In the past free agents would usually leave their team because that team wouldn’t offer them the best deal. Now stars leave their team even if that team can offer them much more money…
The NBA should be able to figure out some fair solution to this problem…
Everyone wants to play with Duh Nix
Dolan should create a league with teams like:
Knicks A
Knicks B
Knicks C
etc.
Let the "trade talks" begin !
They'll call it
the NNL (National Knicks League)
All teams will have the same mascot and jerseys (home, away and alternative) and will call all their stadiums Duh Garden. (Ex. LA Lakers becomes LA Knicks)
This way no player will feel bad about not being on the Knicks. Every will be able to happy and all the fans will agree. (Fan A from Orlando – Yo lets go Knicks!! -—- Fan B from OKC – Yeah, lets do this!)
Oh, and defense is not allowed and will result in a $5,000 fine… per play defensed

He’ll coach one team.
GM on another.
President on one.
Heck, he’ll even play on one team.

I would take
Love over Hump and Nene any day and pay him more then $10 mil without even thinking twice.

I hope Dwill does more of this when the lockout is over.

Deron recruiting
Deron: “Hey Kevin, I found a secret treasure in here. Join me, and I’ll share it with you.”

I'm surprised DWill hasn't recruited Morrow already.
Morrow retweeted my suggestion last month about his going to join DWill, since Besitkas was looking for a SG (before they decided to use DWill for SG).
If I'm not mistaken
Somebody mentioned that they are now using Deron as the SG at times. So maybe there’s no more need for Morrow.

various leagues have rules
on foreign players. However, in Israel, for example, Farmar can be counted as an Israeli because he is Jewish (and of course Casspi is Israeli).
Deng is European (UK citizen), Erden is Turkish.

Rumors
I the absence of real solid news, we are reduced to rumors about un-compelling players who “might” play overseas. WHO CARES!?!?!?!?!?!?
I want to know what the former union leaders and key players are thinking, what the owners are thinking, and what might happen over the next two weeks as this crap drags on and on and on. I am so angry that two of my keyboard keys just popped out!
