Barclays Center Construction Going 24-7-365 Through Opening Night
Officials of Forest City Ratner say the Barclays Center is still ahead of schedule but that construction crews will now be operating 24-7-365 until the arena's Opening Night on September 28 of next year. Activity includes arena construction as well as road work, sewer line installation and upgrades to the LIRR's railyard.
At last week's renaming event, Bruce Ratner said "We don't want to take any chances," when asked about the pace of construction. The last report to bondholders, issued in mid-September, had the arena still a month ahead of schedule. Critics of the arena have claimed the noise around the site at night and in the early morning hours has left many of them sleepless.

Something doesn't add up regarding being a month ahead of schedule, unless they were planning on 24/7 all along.
Project spokesman Joe DePlasco said that the pace of construction "will continue through the arena opening, but he denied that the work was ramped up to keep the project on schedule.
They say that the street work is required to be done at night, when traffic is less.
Maybe some locals can take a peek in the middle of the night and let us know if they are busy working inside of Barclays or is it just the surrounding projects?
Ok, well Yormarket gets up at 5 AM normally.
He should get up early one day and prove they are hard at work inside the Arena at 4 AM, and then send us a tweet.
They're probably just giving themselves as big a cushion as possible
There’s a lot of things that could derail a schedule: Protests, strikes, lawsuits, etc. Any of those couple pop up, but perhaps the biggest unknown of all: Snow. If we have a winter similar to the last two years, the schedule could slip quickly.
A potential early snow is a reason we have to watch the progress on the Roof.
Obviously it would eliminate some problems if they have most of the roof complete before the first snow.
Maybe they want to catch up on the Dean St./ 6th Ave. side now, so that they can finish the Roof sooner.
This could be the reason
Sometimes, developers are trying to beat certain laws from going into effect. I did remember when I met Kevin Walsh, who is the founder of Forgotten NY and another AY opponent as he has said on his website, he said this can be the reason. Another reason can be that he is trying to get as much done, so that his cronies can convince the courts that even if the findings are invalid, they can’t undo anything. Whatever the reason, he shouldn’t be allowed to have construction workers be there every second of the day. Even other developers aren’t doing this all the time. BTW, those living around there have every reason especially if they are living with this. Just another violation thanks to the AYW. For the record, the AYW isn’t an offical group, they are a group of individuals who are keeping a watch on what is going on there, plus they are not associated with DDDB, Brooklyn Speaks, or any other opposition group nor were they seeked, they did this on their own.

That is what I thought, but NI says they haven't started it yet.
This looks like a building they are taking down, for something else.

Billy King wants us to see this photo taken by Bobby Marks yesterday:

Maybe BK should just post on NetsDaily directly (lol). There must be something taboo about a player or GM being a poster on a fan site. So far only CDR has done that.
Elaborate.......

not going to say much
but we did have, under the old site, a case where a player’s mother had two handles and used them to defend her son.
A lot of people owe
apologies to Mrs. Outlaw and Mrs. Petro for the things they’ve said about their son

I'm pretty sure CDR's brother used to post here.
He was called out a few times, but denied it.

Facade is now wrapping around the back end of the arena on its way to Flatbush Avenue
Looks like it's wrapping around 6th Ave. but install sequence shows that they are also starting at Dean street side of Flatbush and will work towards Atlantic.
They should finish most of the remainder of 6th Ave side after Flatbush is done (if plans haven’t changed).
