Gadzuric Signs With Chinese Team

Marc Stein tweets and Hoopshype confirms that the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association have landed Dan Gadzuric after failing to convince Kwame Brown to join their roster.  Gadzuric's signing with the Dragons means he won't be returning to the NBA this season.  The CBA has ruled that its teams can only pursue NBA free agents and cannot offer "NBA outs".

Gadzuric is the seventh Net from last year's roster to sign overseas, joining Deron Williams (Turkey), Jordan Farmar (Israel), Sundiata Gaines (Georgia), Sasha Vujacic (Turkey), Ben Uzoh (Russia) and Mario West (Italy).

Please lets not have a report after every game Gadz plays in China (lol)

For practical purposes, DWill, Farmar and Gaines are the only Nets players overseas and Bojan is a prospect.

Best news about all this

Our players will all be in playing shape. Everyone cross fingers for no injuries.

I wonder what some of these "lesser" players are getting.

They apparently were aware that they would have taken BIG pay cuts if they stayed in the NBA, including Vujacic, maybe around minimum salary.

I wouldn’t have minded if Sasha would have stayed if he accepted less than 2 million per year.

This isn't a good sign for NBA Owners

because you were hoping the masses would fall apart because they weren’t bringing in a paycheck. But with more and more players signing somewhere else it makes it less likely NBA players will go broke. Some will but they will have options. Fans will revolt on everyone and the brands will take a hit.

Score one for the players.

well said

There is competition for players services. Definite leverage for players.

He is #50

to sign overseas.

But still only one superstar has signed. That could change if Kobe signs with Virtus Bologna.
