The latest dry heave of labor negotiations has finally done it. It is now time for NBA fans to take action. Both sides need to be economically punished so that they will think long and hard about ever doing this again. We need to raise the costs by damaging the finances of the league as much as possible. Money is the only thing that they seem to care about, so we need to withhold ours until they understand that the costs of fighting labor wars far outweigh any prospective gains. We need to occupy the NBA!
Unlike the Wall Street version, I propose a specific agenda:
1. Boycott attending all games this season.
2. Do not purchase or wear any NBA merchandise.
3. Watch games on TV so that you can make a list of all sponsors and boycott their goods (maybe if we start wearing kicks from KSwiss and, gulp, Starbury we won't need Roni Deutsch so much anymore).
4. Cut all your basketballs in half and turn them into decorative planters.
