D-Will Hitting Stride as Besiktas Wins Sixth Straight Game
Deron Williams may be coming home soon, and if he is, he's leaving Turkish fans with a reminder of just how good NBA superstars can be. For the second straight game, Williams dominated, scoring 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting (3-for-5 from deep) and handing out 8 assists in Besiktas upset win over Turk Telecom.
Williams combined with Cavaliers' center Semih Erden on a variety of easy baskets. Erden, who also has an "NBA out", finished with 15 and 10 and Marcelus Kemp, who D-Will has helped make the TBL's leading scorer, had 25. Turk Mehmet Okur, Willliams' Jazz teammate who 18 and 13 for Turk Telecom, and Darius Washington, formerly of the Bulls finished with a game-high 29.
- Boxscore - Turkish Basketball League
- Beşiktaş Milangaz 97, Türk Telekom 88 - Besiktas
- Memo vs. D-Will - Jody Gennesy - Deseret News
- Deron Williams vs Mehmet Okur - Orhan Suer - Eurobasket

love it.
D-Will will hit the ground running when the season starts. hopefully the rest of the team makes sure they are ready to keep up.

My sources tell me Deron wants to play the whole season with Besiktas...
His family now loves Turkey and he thinks he can win a championship this year…
FIBA thinks not

I'm liking Erden
liked him in the World Championships too. Big and tough.

Yeah but no dance
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
"We're saving our Dougie and Waltz for someone like Scola or CJ Miles."
“Right now for Memo we’re only prepared to give up Gansta’s Paradise, although if push comes to shove we’ll entertain including a future Chicken Noodle Soup if a dance is a deal breaker.”

as long as his foot is okay
he will almost certainly be amnesty candidate.

I agree...
Especially if we want to save cap room for Dwight.
Okur would be the best back up Center in the league and may be able to play next to Lopez for stints.I say we trade Farmar and Petro along with cash and maybe a 2nd rounder for him.

The rookies might have to play more limits...
seeing how the preseason will probably be cut short and veterans won’t be playing big minutes until they get into game shape…And if players get injuried who knows how many minutes Brooks or J-Will might get…
JWill
probably won’t. Brooks is more ready. He’s older, more polished and hungry.
by Jack Handy Jr on Oct 28, 2011 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions
Crawford is hot trash.
He isn’t helping anyone have the best backcourt in the league and it’s scary MarShon has mentioned him a number of times as a player he resembles and models his game after.

Looks good...
The New Jersey Nets ticket sales office, idle for most of the fall, is holding a series of hastily called meetings today under the theme “Be Ready.” One staffer tells us that a department-wide email has been circulated, instructing employees that “it’s time to get back to work.” The short-staffed 76ers’ team office has been told that Monday will be “all hands on deck,” as per orders from the league.
We almost traded for Dwight Howard...
but Avery vetoed it cause he thinks Travis is too much to throw into the deal…
Other then that not much else happened…
Yeah, it was crazy
NI deleted the thread because we were so pissed

Talks btwn the players & owners just ended. Split of BRI is still the issue. Neither side budging. Players still at 52, owners at 50.

Seriously
just do 51 and start this season already
owners should be fine with 52 honestly. Their getting so much back now anyway.
Nets Mets Giants ALL DAY
Howard Beck: Confirmed: talks done for today. Have hit a roadblock. Waiting for word from league/union

Why don't they just settle this the adult way...
Players get 52 % and owners get 52 %.
New math, new NBA !
Lets wait to hear the press conference first...
If its only the BRI I wouldn’t worry about that 1%…
Lets hope they aren’t far apart on other system issues as well…
UNREAL!
I was getting excited,
I really thought this weekend would be it.
It will be it
Just not today

Trying to be optimistic. Fisher said today wasn’t a day to close it out. But, maybe the next time they meet?

I'm starting to think this might be a "tactical ploy"...
involving both sides…
Both sides want the owners and players that are not directly involved in the meetings to think they are not selling them out…
Tomorrow or Sunday both sides come together in a spirit of compromise and everybody walks away happy…
I told Zzone they should just send the NBA Bill (their losses) to Proky in return for altering the rules so that Nets get Dwight.
Lets say $300 million in return for Nets getting Dwight. Sounds fair. Proky gets a championship.
ESPN right on the head
hit it right on the head only hard core basketball fans care about this. Others don’t care if a season happens or not

Key problematic system issue for union is exceptions for tax-paying teams. Players want them, league doesn’t.
