Brooks Shows Off with Adidas
MarShon Brooks recently traveled to Oregon for the Adidas Pep Rally, where he showed off in both the dunk and three point shooting contests. He also offered a tutorial on creating your own shot. All of that is now online. Among the others who participated were Newark's Kenneth Faried of the Nuggets; Nolan Smith of the Trail Blazers, Brandon Knight of the Pistons, Alec Burks of the Jazz and Iman Shumpert of the Knicks.

it's Devin Kharpeterian's post-draft analysis. Quite good
"It's as sweet as it ever was, I'll tell you. Now, hopefully, we started something and we can win some more championships, but we're going to enjoy this one right now. Have a little champagne." --Julius Erving, May 12, 1976, ABA champion Nets locker room.
I have such high hopes for this kid. We just need him to score and play decent defense. If he can be our Nick Young, who he reminds me of, I will be beside myself. Billy King I trust in drafting more than Thorn.
He'll be better than that

That’s big talk. Nick Young is a good player just needs to be harnessed.

Nick Youngs is a good players on a bad team
and a bad player on a good team. Brooks has the athleticism and scoring ability to become a good player, but it depends on how the Nets play him.

I'm still on the fence about the Nets keeping him and Morrow at the 2
I feel more comfortable getting a guy like Mayo, and having a very deep, young rotation at the 2. Morrow is primarily shooting, and Avery can ease Brooks into the NBA game gradually, while developing a young talent like O.J.
I am confused

I understand Morrow isnt the answer to start, but I really think if we can get a defensive SF with a decent outside shot, we will be ok while Brooks eases his way into the NBA.

do you realize that Brook’s game is essentially the same as Mayo, Brooks could easily end up a better player than Mayo too
Morrow is perfect shooter off the bench to stretch the floor, and plus did you forget how many CLUTCH shots he hit for us at the end of games last year. Morrow is a keeper

I didn’t say the Nets should get rid of Morrow, they could keep all three.
@Sic Mayo is still young, but he’s been in the league longer than Brooks, that’s what I was getting at. He still needs to improve his game. It is all contingent on if they can get him on the cheap, I’m not willing to give up Morrow and/or James or any first rounders for O.J.

I would rather go with a SF then Mayo
No minutes for him and you know he would be pissed with no playing time. No need to stunt Marshons growth seems to have a better head on his shoulders, he’s bigger than Mayo, longer arms, bigger hands, taller, and more athletic ,I would rather let him have as much room as possible as I’m pretty sure he will be the better player. I would have possibly looked at Mayo if we did not draft Brooks tho.
"We're not there yet, but we're going somewhere," Johnson said. "And we're going to Brooklyn. We're not going to contract. We're going to Brooklyn."
I doubt the Nets will be interested in OJ...
Character issues will sink that ship before it ever sails…
Mayo was late for a game-day shootaround and was taken out of the starting lineup starting November 20, 2010. On a return flight to Memphis from Los Angeles, Mayo was involved in a fight with teammate Tony Allen over a debt from an in-flight card game.
On January 27, the NBA suspended Mayo for 10 games following a positive test for the steroid dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which violates the league’s anti-drug program. Mayo blamed an over the counter supplement that he didn’t know was banned by the NBA for the positive test, but he declined to say which supplement he used. He later said an unnamed energy drink he bought at a gas station contained the banned substance.
I'd rather get Tony Allen than Mayo
- Start Tony Allen for his defense
- bring Ammo off the bench for scoring
- Marshon learns from both and becomes SWAG#official
When you have to shoot, shoot don't talk.
I'd like a good defender if they bring someone on
My thinking is whoever they bring in has to be at least capable of defending.
