One thing lost in Saturday's coverage of Billy King's visit to Turkey: Deron Williams' decision to join his Besiktas teammates in honoring 24 Turkish soldiers killed by the PKK terrorist group last week. Williams wore a warm-up shirt that read, when translated: "Martrys don’t die, the country will not be divided."
Wednesday's attack claimed the deadliest one-day toll against the Turkish military since the 1990s. It unleashed a counter attack that saw the Turkish military cross the Iraqi border to find those responsible. Turkish military officials said 49 Kurdish fighters have been killed in the operations since Thursday. The U.S. has long carried the PKK on its list of terrorist groups.
